Title: Astral Projection is not Real
Post by: Nameless One on January 19, 2007, 18:25:56
Is Astral projection real many people say yes and many say no. With my Experience I have found that the sensation of being out of body is very real and being in a dream enviorment is just as real as real.

The simple problem with this subject of Astral Projection is that it cant be measured and only crudely observed by a out side party. The best we can do is prove or disprove it personally from out own involvement with it. I myself have had many off and on OBE and lucid dreams some that would make a weak souled person go to church more often but for me it has opened my eyes to the greater universe and human ignorance of all thats out there that we don't understand, and may never grasp. In most traditional cultures and eastern cultures OBE is just as real as other things that can happen to people in life but in our Christian Western culture OBE is considered false or the devil is behind it. There is no evil with the practice of OBE and many ancient philoshpers like Socrates Talked about the soul leaving the body.

To prove the falsification of OBE is to prove this world fake as well because you must ask what is reality and what is fantasy. is no better demonstrated with a Paradox

If one were to never awaken from a dream woun't it become real.

Yes, it's what we call a subjective experience. You can spend a lifetime looking for external validation and never find anything meaningful.

Yes, many people are ignorant of it.

I have many more lucid dreams than I do OBEs and the simple fact of the matter is that if you're not sure whether or not you had a fully immersive OBE then it's most likely you didn't. That's fine though because for those of us who have these experiences we don't need anyone elses opinion on whether it's real or not hehe. Not unless we're in conflict.

Using the term weak-souled is an interesting thing to do. You mention evil and there's some heavy intellectualizing going on here ; )

You've obviously come to terms with something recently so congratulations on that. Welcome to less-limited thinking : D

The closest thing I've seen to an "outside" verification of an OBE was from an ER nurse who told about a guy who had a NDE in their operating room.  The patient recovered, and having remembered some of the experience (of being OB and watching the proceedings in the operating room), he later looked up the nurse and told her about it.  To her shock he described some things that happened and were said by staff that he couldn't have known, given that he was "dead" for a few minutes.  She was convinced that he was OB.  That's still not scientific, but interesting nonetheless.  DH
