Enhancing Awareness

I've been reading a book lately called "Awakening the Energy Body: From Shamanism to Bioenergetics" by Kenneth Smith.
The author presents a perspective that I appreciate very much regarding the development of awareness, so I thought I'd share it.

Lately I've been a bit put off by some of the people I've seen posting about how dangerous "exploring consciousness" is.  Whether or not they recognize it, their comments almost seem to say that we shouldn't even try to do this projection stuff.  So, I want to share an opposing point of view.  Consider this a beneficial aspect of AP.

Allow me to preface this with a brief description of the fundamentals Smith discusses.  His work is based on Toltec Shamanism/Bioenergetics and through these perspectives he offers a diagram of the human experiential reality and energy body system.  Now, it is "slightly" more complicated than this, but for the sake of the excerpt I'm going to include, I'll give you the short version.

Essentially we have 3 energy fields around us.  Field one is what is known, our physical waking awareness (Focus 1 is it's Frank equivalent I believe), and exists on the right side of our body.  Field two is what is unknown but knowable, this is potential, imagination (Focus 2, the internal astral bit).  Field three is the unknowable, that which is beyond the capability of human awareness (Focus...I don't know, 3 or 4, you decide).  Field one and two are like bubbles around us (which is funny because I had a whole theoretical diagram of reality like a year ago based on a holographic sphere that surrounded each of us, then I read Xanth's Frank pdf and saw a post where Frank was talking about a consciousness bubble at one point....).

The important thing to know right now is that field one represents learning and field two represents imagination.  Ok, here is the excerpt:

"As important as learning and imagination are, the more the energy body wakes, the less meaning they have.  Each is real, as real can be, and yet 'real' is contrived.  What is considered to be real hinges on a number of factors, including personal and cultural meaning, survival imperatives, and the current map of reality, to name a few, all of which are environmental factors that impact cohesion (the overall pattern of energy in the body).  As the conscious area of the energy body expands, a new dynamic unfolds.  Learning and imagination are equal parts of an active awareness that brings us closer to being.  In this light, imagination and learning are part of a practical method to enhance awareness.

Learning applies to integrating awareness within the first field, and imagination is a great way to proceed.  Imagination, in turn, pertains to developing the second field.  It is, by definition, expanding awareness and therefore accelerating learning.  Expanding the first field solely by learning for of the same known world is slow and tedious.  In relation to exploring a grander scope of an infinite environment, learning also takes a bit longer, as new references need to be related to what is already known.  Deliberate use of imagination therefore adds a vibrant dimension to learning."

So what that says is that if you want to enhance your awareness, you'd do much better to combine imagination with learning.  Learning alone (a right side/left brain function) is limited because it only pertains to what is already known.  Imagination (left side/right brain) on the other hand deals with infinite potential coming from what many people here call a certain area of consciousness, ie Astral Projection (or F2 or whatever).  When we project, or even just practice (anything that is an exploration of consciousness), we are engaging our imagination as well as our learning center which amps up the power of our merger of field one and two, the physical and astral.

Keep exploring.  It's good for your soul (if you believe in that sort of thing).
be awesome.

What if imagination was like an old toy? The first one you ever got. You used it a few times, making the things you wanted appear out of thin air. Remember? But it got so boring after awhile. I actually enjoy the game of chasing my tail over and over. Try it... imagination still works most of the time. Pop sometihing out of reality just for you. See? You can do it... but something stops you. It's boring on a cosmic soul level. It's too easy... boring. I wish there was more... then getting everything you want. Maybe we can trap ourselves in a game. A game where we didn't have our powers and could forget our bubbles. Then we could have fun again.  :-P

There is a difference between fleeting fanciful imaginings and using "imagination", which in the context I used it (ie the Toltec diagram) is more like AP or shamanic journeying, visualization.  The point is that through this kind of imagination, learning moves faster and then our physical reality "bubble" becomes integrated with our non-physical reality "bubble" and it essentially disappears because we have integrated the two and become part of the greater reality (that third field).

I was saying what you said.
be awesome.

That's so cool. It's scary tho once we remember our "gift".  They're gonna lock us up, study us, and take our toys away!  :-o

I just try to forget about it. Once is enuf.  :-(

Hmmm...
I think I'll put a bit more effort into reading this book.

Sounds like an interesting read. So much to read so little time. All about learning.

Why do some think exploring consciousness is dangerous. LIFE IS "exploring consciousness". Either internally or externally it's all exploration. Unfortunately some of the exploration is over covered ground but with imagination it can become new once again and undiscovered lessons can form.

Sounds good to me.

Yeah totally agreed, all of that makes perfect sense. I think that to rouse our imaginative side is essential to truly be developed, as it compliments also our normal physical functioning, and in turn brings the two bodies into a better working connection, as you say. I think anyone who denies the prospect of projecting as anything but positive are really in need to think twice, it can only bring about constructive improvement in ourselves, it brings us closer to reality, opens our awareness, how is this bad?

The 'bubble' that you are referring to is the result of the electromagnetic field generated by the primary energy centers in the human energy body.

Research has been done into medical imaging and attempts to understand how the heart produces such a large electromagnetic field are still underway. Laboratory studies have shown that that electric and magnetic field exposure affects heart rate and heart rate variability.

This 'bubble' exists in all dimensional levels of reality, (i.e. Mental, Etheric, Astral, Celestial, etc.) and allows for direct interaction with the interdimensional universe. When an individuals field is sufficiently large enough, an entity can penetrate your personal 'bubble' allowing for mind-to-mind interfacing. This however is not as easy as it sounds and takes many years of practice to consistently be able to accurately communicate and process thoughts. These individuals are referred to as mediums.

The vortex energy technology I have been researching creates an electromagnetic field very similar to a human energy center. When the field is expanded to several feet and raised to a particular frequency, the presence of an entity can be detected as it enters into the bubble. When entites of a low vibrational frequency (i.e. red, orange, yellow chakras) enter into the bubble, the entire frequency shifts down and as a result so do you. This can cause the individual to experience emotional energy such as fear, anxiety, denial, etc. trates that are all associated with lower vibrational energy centers. Which for me has unfortunately led to severe negative emotional reactions due to my encounters with not so pleasant entities.

On the other hand, the field can be used to connect directly to the energy centers of you energy body, producing a field of pure light and loving energy. Currently, the field I use now connects directly to the blue chakra and links to the crown chakra where it outputs energy back into the field. Entities below the blue frequency energy level have found it very difficult to penetrate the bubble and usually just avoid it all together. Unless of course they're good and actually enjoy love and light energy!

Well the whole point of the bubble is that everything you see is your own mirror reflection - I mean if you've lost your form and become completely luminous. I don't know what level that is on or if it even matters really.  I can mishape my bubble toward the horizon and make contact with pure awareness or just come back to it's oval little shape. I always thought thinking in terms of energy, and fibers, and levels, was just a big mess. I just go by feel... and that's how seeing works. I rarely even think about making forms and diagrams in my head.  See? They aren't even bubbles... it's me itself. Or you you itself. It just feels like a bubble... but that is a form and as far as I'll take it. Besides... looking at people's bubbles is dizzy work. I don't even like trying it. Makes me sick.

I would hope you DO bother. Hell, I'm soaking this stuff up. Love the pictures/diagrams. Don't not bother on my account.

Still don't get efil though. :?

Because you care Kurt.

the efil bit is an inside joke between me and some friends psilibus.

long story short, there was a hurricane and we were stuck at my friends house, so we spent a few days eating mushrooms in his basement as it seemed like a valuable use of our time.  throughout the course of the first day one of my friends kept speculating on the meaning of life and he just kept saying "Life is....." and would ramble something that only he could comprehend.  It was starting to get annoying.

So at one point he starts again and says "Life is...." and was preparing to say something that he was sure was profound when my other friend spoke up and said "Efil spelled backwards".

It was funny and we made fun of the 'life is' guy for a long time, but when we actually stopped to consider what had been said we discovered that it was actually a profound statement in itself.  Kind of zen.  So it's been a bit of an inside joke/personal mantra for all of us for years.
be awesome.

When I think of the sheer multitude of mind-shattering shrooming profundities...

I see...

Thanks for the background info I'm all better now. :-D
