This is a cool website, but books suck.

Err... Pardon my ignorance, but how is that book related to the AP site? What "book come-ons" are you talking about?

There ARE two books that are directly related to this site, but they are GG [:D].

I checked your profile to see what your claimed age was, not listed.  Have you ever read thru a complete technical manual?  It doesn't matter the subject - computers, automotive repair, electronic assembly, etc.  They all have some principle, method, or revelation to impart to the reader, on the off chance that someone actually doesn't know whatever it is yet.  A book that *doesn't* have this would surprise me.

Secondly, it doesn't surprise me that the RB book is promoted on his web-space.  What does is that it is promoted so lightly, with a FREE treatise that gives a quick rundown of what is in the book.  Visit any technical web page, you'll find that all advertise, and a lot heavier than here (usually for Micro$oft products).

And lastly, you are a capital letter (snicker) hating troll.  Better turn off your TV and your P4 CPU.

Why so critical? This is a great site. Astral Dynamics is a great book, but all or almost all the info in it can be found on the forums and the free guides that Robert has written. He does not try to prevent the info from showing up in the free areas. I could never say that this is just about making money. One never has to buy the book to find help. But the book is well worth the money. Maybe you should do a little looking around before jumping to judgement.
Alice had got so much into the way of expecting nothing but out-of-the-way things to happen, that it seemed quite dull and stupid for life to go on in the common way.

Totally, fair enough.  I shall do so.

People, people!

singularity referred not to Astral Dynamics, or PPSD, but to some other obscure book that has no connection whatsoever to astral projection, Robert Bruce, Astral Pulse website, or this forum, managing to confuse himself, and all of you [:D][B)]

Books are what got me interested in O.B.Es in the first place. I read monroes books and I thought wow that is amazing, and the thought that maybe I could learn how to do it also is a thrilling idea. But you are entitled to your own opinion and I respect that. I hope that you stick around and don't get intimidated by these zelits. I look forward to hearing more of your strong opinions.[;)]

With all due respect, however, I have to say it puts me off a little to get hit so hard with book sale come-ons as soon as you arrive at the site.  I know you gotta make a living - don't I know it - but still, it felt a little heavy.

At least he isn't making grandiose claims.

I think even trying to write a book on these kinds of subjects is a self-defeating exercise.  I mean, you devote this huge effort to putting your hard-gained insights down in writing, right?  You have to come up with some great new Principle, Method or Revelation.  Otherwise who's going to pay to read it?

To Hell with that noise.  The very process is so corrupting as to render it pointless.  The written word is the part that comes out of somebody's rear mental sphincter.

I say, beware of any terminology that uses capital letters or acronyms.  They are the great barriers to enlightenment.

I agree with what someone else said, look at the good stuff [:D]

There are free downloadable manuals to check out if you are hesitant on buying anything. but first things first, I would talk to the people on this site first. You won't be disapointed.

Oh and as a writer it is my duty to say that... books do NOT suck.
