Yeah, I have experience with those, but kind of limited. As far as I can tell, Wild Lettuce does nothing (supposed to be the poor-man's opium, but the last thing you need for OBEs is an opiate-like). There's an African "dreaming" herb that is somewhat relaxing, but you're more likely to fall asleep than anything.

My favorite so far is just a cup or two of camomile tea. With OBEs, relaxing is key. The less you have to lean on in order to relax, the better off you are in the long run.

It's actually not hard to learn to physically relax. Substances are more likely to compromise your awareness after relaxing, and you don't need that. Just try letting yourself fall asleep. Wake yourself up, drift further into sleep, wake yourself up, try to get as close to the dream state as you can. If you do fall asleep after this, the pattern will kick in and as reflex you'll wake yourself - only your body will still be asleep. This has been the most helpful for me (even though it doesn't really answer your herbal question).

In short: herbs aren't necessary. Shortcuts don't really work. At least, they never did for me.

just a little tidbit of information, but i studied wild lettuce after i saw it growing in my garden and found out it kills your kidneys..so don't use it.besides in the way of relaxing with herbs the "greener" the better =) I'm not promoting anything it's just my way of relaxing and helping with obe and ld'ing
