Interesting...can't say it sounds evil, and I don't know what to tell you...other than you should probably continue to develop true spiritual basics (loving others and gaining knowledge.)  I must admit that your mother sounds like a fascinating person, what was she like?

Also, describe, if you will, when you were able to move objects.

Thanks,

Dan

Dan - Where have you heard or learned that 'gaining knowledge' was a spiritual basic?

I ask for personal reasons, loving others seems like an obvious intuitive spiritual purpose, but isn't 'knowledge' rather an earthly endeavor? In the past this quandry has left me feeling less-than-certain that I should spend energy trying to project, when instead I could spend that energy towards being more loving towards others. I hope you can help me with this question?

Pearlybear  - I am not sure where your approach would lead. I doubt it would be 'bad' --- Perhaps if it causes you to approach with more fear, you may 'reap what you sow' sort of thing. But I don't know why the directions in and of themselves would lead to good or bad.

Patty, welcome back - -

About gaining knowledge, it is a worldy thing, this is true.  But who says worldy is not spiritual?  Oh wait, I forget, lots of people say that.  Oops.  Well, those people are confused.

So let me clear things up and bring some peace to all who wrangle with this question!  YOUR  COMPETENCE ON  THE ASTRAL PLANE IS A DIRECT REFLECTION OF YOUR COMPETENCE ON THE EARTHLY PLANE.  As above, so below!  Repeat ten times, once again everyone, with feeling!

The Yaqui sorcerers were Men of Knowledge.  Not men of "wisdom," although of course they were wise.  Folks, they KNEW THINGS.  They were skilled and capable.  They could turn on a dime.  In short, they were the James Bonds of the psychic realm.

Did you know Carlos Casteneda and many in his band of sorcerers were college professors?  He made his student, Florinda Donner, work on her advanced degree.  His band of sorcerers were PhDs, published authors, accomplished artists, etc.

So yes, the quest for knowledge is critical! A spiritual basic!  It helps you take the ordinary and move it into the abstract, and express it.  The foundation of magical work.  Knowledge is very handy on the Astral.

Hi Tisha,

Well, I'm not convinced that astral is spiritual either!!! hee hee hee, it gets kind of sticky when you analyze things too much.

What seems most spiritual to me is transcendant to these 'planes,' and 'love' seems about as close as we can get. And releasing the ego. Really, any of the buddhist teachings.

Speaking of which, your response seems at odds with the zen approach that you have towards things. Are you wiccan or buddhist? Some of both?

Thank you for your thoughts, and the welcome back.

I feel you're right Patty, in that I see astral as a place and spiritual as a state of being. Knowledge is a good thing, but when relating to spiritual matters it is better that the knowledge be heart knowledge more than head knowledge. Does that make sense?

Pearlybear,
I want to know more about the cup. It sounds as if your concious was directly interacting with the physical world - thought given form or density.
This is fascinating!

I was taught by my mother to relax and send my consciousness backwards (about 10 feet ) and then down. I have had some weird experiences and was able to control physical things around me, like moving a cup.
Does anyone know where this would lead in relation to the astral plane and is it bad?
Any ideas are welcome http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile_wink.gif" border=0>
