Title: Can I go out of body through a direct technique while lyiing on my side?
Post by: LoLmart on October 15, 2012, 17:25:13
I have this illness that makes my neck irritable and stiff if I am laying on my back for a long time consciously. So has someone projected directly (not upon awakening) by lying in bed on one of their sides? Is it more difficult and why or why not?

You can project standing on your head if you find that comfortable.   Position is only important if it's uncomfortable.   So yes,  lay on your side as much as you want.  :-)

Hi,
I can't see why not too. I can be in any position and typically leaning to one side is more comfy. It seems to be more successful if the legs are almost stretched for some reason.
I think the idea of being on your back is to associate this position with an exit attempt. You become trained and it is comfy for most people too. Personally, its not unless my knees are raised somewhat, this has its merits but also stability issues.
We are all different and you should try many positions to suit your personal circumstances best.

I read Astral Dynamics some time ago and Robert Bruce said that the best ways are from a chair or lying on your back. But it's probably just most people's preference. I also read/heard somehwere that some ancient Egyptians used to have their beds on a very specific angle so that they can exit their bodies more effectively. Has anyone heard about it or tried it? Can someone give me some advices on a specific direct exiting technique + relaxation method which will get to me vibrations. Before the illness I used to meditate every night on my chakras, starting from the lowest and getting to the crown chakra. I was doing this high on marijuana and many times when I got to the crown chakra I experienced vibrations from bottom to top and the other way around. I performed a technique where I feel and sense that I am flying around in my room looking at the surroundings that I had to memorise. It was a technique proposed by Robert Bruce. I could feel that I was almost there like I was about to exit my body but it never happened. Is there a good effective technique that you can propose to me. I am not good with ropes or climbing techniques. I just can't keep rhythm for some reason. Can I use Raduga's indirect (upon awakening) technique that I sense a mobile phone and just randomly touch it in one of my arms in order to switch awareness to my astral body? Do you think that would work? Thanks for all the answers, I appreciate it a lot!

I forgot to mention... projecting on my side is what I do most.  I also have troubles projecting/meditating lying down on my back due to when my body begins to fall asleep, my throat relaxes and I can't breath/snore.  So lying on my side solves this.

I have always faced problems in meditating by lying in bed on one of their sides.

You can lie on your side.  There is no rule.  You can do anything you want to.  The only thing is if you are too comfortable you have a high or higher chance of falling asleep, particularly in bed.  I lie on a very thin mattress on my side on the floor.  It is not very comfortable.  I can feel the floor and it works for me.  I have a very high success rate to ap.  There are times I mess it up.

Projection for me has been on my back, but I have woken up sometimes to find I am on my side.

People seem to have more ease on their back, but it seems fairly common for people to be able to project from many other positions too.

When I practice lying down (I often practice sitting up), I do it on my back. If I lie on my side I'll fall asleep. I only sleep on my side.

Once I spontaneously projected from sleep (which is very rare for me), and when I woke up in bed I was lying on my back, which is probably the only time I ever woke up on my back. I figured they were connected, but who knows.
