Hello everyone I am new to astral projection but not lucid dreaming so I know some stuff that will carry over. I have a question about how I am attempting to astral project.

So today my goal was to hit SP because I have never experienced it consciously and I know if I hit that I can Astral Project. So today when I woke up I went to the bathroom and than lied back down in my bed. I wasn't really tired so I just decided to try and have SP. Since I just woke up I dint really feel the need to relax my body so I just jumped to breath work. After I did that I was working on my energy, Robert Bruce does like a paint brush stroke so I started at my feet. On my dominate foot I could really feel it left not as much. I then worked up the leg but could not really feel it as much as i could on my foot and kinda felt like I lost it but I continued anyway.

After this I just lied in the bed and I noticed how my breathing got really slow and deep like if I was sleeping which I assumed was good. Within a min of noticing my breath, my limbs started feeling heavy. Right after that I could not feel them. I than had to end it since I had to take care of something due to the weather.

Am I doing this right? I think personally I could work on the energy more but I really wanted to know if i was at least on the right track.

Hi ranar welcome to the Pulse.
If you are proficient at LD's why don't you use this to your advantage.
Chasing energy is like swimming to driving a speedboat.
You only need to exit the dream enough for it to breakdown and you'll be in the void.
A 3D blackness with a grainy look. From here you can go anywhere and have answers to your questions.
Try to slowly exit your dream without even thinking of the physical body (important) and ask "show me what I need to know".
You may see something you recognise, whatever appears go with it. The experience will put you on the map.
It's very safe and better than anything physically possible.
There's far more where the eye can't see.
Close your eyes and open your mind.

Well the reason I don't do it from a lucid dream is because to be honest I don't have them all the time. I have them once or twice every other month but all of them were natural and as a kid I had them twice a week but as i got older not so much. I could always start and try to induce them i just never had the motivation since i would have them once in a while.

The reason being why i want to astral project this way is because once i get to SP i have two choices visualize and start a dream WILD or once hit the whine and tingling astral project. So that is where I stand. To put it a different way I have had enough lucid dreaming to control emotions, fly, create anything i want. WILD has always interested me i just never tried it so if I can get to SP I think I will be good.
