'clarity now' technique would this work?

Someone told me a technique which I figure could work as it worked for him but you need to be able to have a mildly lucid dream for it to happen.

Basically you go throughout your day repeating in your mind "clarity now". You don't see it every second but every few minutes or something so its drummed into your brain and are used to saying it frequently.

That night when your asleep if you have any flicker of mild consciousness in a dream you'll have the "clarity now" thing engrained in your mind and will be saying it still but of course the meaning of it will cause the dream to very slowly and gradually get clearer and more lucid until you have it clear as an OBE where you can go out further.

I know people use the "clarity now" comment a lot when they are in lucid dreams but by using this method you can potentially train your mind to get clearer a lot more frequently in a dream which leads to a fully conscious OBE.

Any views on this method? maybe someones tried it.

It's the same kind of thing as a "reality check".
You do it throughout your day in the hopes that you'll do it when you're non-physical too.

It's just fine and should work.  :)

It's just another way to do daily frequent reality checks, which has been proven in the past to be very effective.

You could also ask yourself many times during the day "Am I Dreaming?". Just being fully aware of everything that goes on around you during the day, is a great way to open you up to being aware in your Dreams as well.

Edit: Oops, I didn't see that you and I were posting at the same time Xanth. But I guess great minds think alike, lol!  :-D

k I see what you mean but don't you think this could be an easier way of doing it for the reason that simply saying 'reality check' is not really affecting the dream state as much as if you were to say 'clarity now' as because each time you say that you would get clearer. I figure I would not really be able to be clear or aware enough in my dream to really acknowledge saying 'reality check' I know I would have to have a pretty lucid dream for me to build on it with that which for me is pretty uncommon at least lately but if I am already subconsciously saying in my mind 'clarity now' it would build consciousness without worrying about being lucid enough in the first place to do it if you get me? a little confusing lol.

The art of doing it this way is you could change very minimal windows of dreaming clarity in your mind to strong lucidity at least in theory.

Remember it's not *what* you say, it's the *intent* behind how you say it.

I like what you say.   I have just started on saying during the day, I can see.   I am hoping that when I am dreaming I will know that I am dreaming.   It will take time for it to work.   I will let you know how it goes.    I also say, during the day, I am aware and I can think very clearly.   It is just as important to get that awareness as well as being able to see.

In one of D. Sutphen's tapes he uses some post hypnotic sugestions . One is 3  2  1 , to remember trips out of body . Other words are return  , repel , shield , ect.  I remember hearing clarity now on either  some of Robert Monroe's tapes or one of the Llewyns tapes .

Clarity Now!  Is a William Buhlman creation.

My creation is, I just say, I can see.
And that proves that it's not what you say but the intent behind what you say.

You could as easily yell "BANANA SPLIT!"  and it would have the same effect assuming you used the same intent behind it.  :-)

I did remember hearing the phrase before , just did not remember who said it .  I dont know about banana split , but guacamole/ salsa  and chips might work .  Popular food items hear in the s.w. USA

I'll do "Nutella Bread!" from now on.
You should!  See if you can figure out how to place the proper Intent to make it happen!

Once people realize that it's not the tool they use, but themselves that gives them their power... you can relinquish all tools and simply use *YOU*.

That sounds like a good one...I might try it.
I like to say ' I'm dreaming !'  and sometimes my husband and I
will say to each other, 'Hey ! You're dreaming !' just to liven things up.

I've also read that you can DO things...like ALWAYS touch a door frame as you go thru
it or look at the ceiling,  or something and tell your self that you are dreaming as you do it.
Something about touch reinforcing the idea. But I would think it would only work if you have
noticed that you go thru doors a lot in your dreams ! Pick something that you notice you dream
about a lot I guess...

It's your fault. We have bananas.  And we have ice cream.   :x
Why?

I just want to say this method sounds great and all, but just realize it is not foolproof.  I had a dream where I did clarity now while because my dream started to fade and my dream self wanted to prolong the dream!

And you know what it worked, the dream instantly became so vivd it was clearer then real life to my amazement and I was kicking myself for not becoming lucid at this either  :|

So yeah it works but one still needs to be able to become aware.
