i found out about ap form my cousin at the beginning of the summer and i have  read everything i can get my hands about. once i just tried meditating untill i was all tingly and numb everywhere then at the top of a deep breath i just focused every amount of energy i had on oum( in my mind)
and my chest started to swell up and i got dizzy but then somone rang the doorbell and it broke my concentratration.i trie that several more times but it just didnt work :evil:  :(  :x  :cry:  so i tried meditating into a trance the imagining a rope in the middle of an empty room hanging from the ceiling the i started to climb it once i got to the ceiling i pushed my arms through it and pulled myself through the ceiling but i just wasnt strong enough so thats all i got any suggestions i downloaded the obe mp3 thingy and put it on my player and that works prty good...

Hey purplemonkeyofdoom,

There are many techniques on achieving astral projection, some may work better for you, or some may work worse. You sound a lot like me when I first began meditating and practicing AP in the beginning of the year. I found myself progressing in phases. Like you, one of the first phases was feeling my body go numb and tingle. I progressed until I eventually realized that it's best if you don't try to look for "new" things that are happening to you while you progress. It's best just to let everything go, and make your conscious mind fall asleep, while you stay awake. The best way to do this is to trick it into thinking your asleep. Once this happens you will begin to feel everything slow down, and you will get a sort of "solid" feeling. Then vibes come in, and throughout all of this, you just have to try to ignore that it's happening, because if you start thinking about how weird it feels, you will snap back into the phsyical (this has happened to me many times). It wasn't until recently when I started to be able to project. I'm still an amatuer, but the best advice I can give you is not to try too hard.

I mean " don't try to hard" in a good way. That sounded bad, but what I meant is, don't make yourself all tense when trying to project, just relax and ride it out. Ciao
