AP Friends,

This Thursday I'll be visiting a sensory deprivation float tank here local in my neighborhood. I'm hoping that I'll be able to produce a few obe's under the condiction of sensory deprivation.

If this yields success than the next move I'll be working with a paranormal team that can conduct tests, video, evp, infrared, thermal energy monitoring.

Anyways, should be interested and will post my findings on-line and my site.

Let us know what you think of the tank. I'm mildly interested in trying one out one of these days.

Holy Crap!

What neighborhood has a sensory depravation tank, I'd do this in a heartbeat.

How do you even come across one of these? I'm so jealous I'm getting sick.

Ok, anyway sounds like a good time and good luck.

In the UK quite a few spa centres have them, usually with 40min-1hr booking slots :).

Ap Friends,

This is at a local spa/tanning parlor which is about 25min drive for me from home.

My biggest inspiration is if it helps me produce the obe state at-will vs. random, than I can move forward with the paranormal team and their equipment monitoring me, running tests and study. This might yield good results for capturing the obe.

That's a really good idea TVOS, I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with =)

Hey AP Friends,

Thanx for the info. and it will definitely be used for tomorrow's event.

Its nice to know what to expect going into this - like the earplugs, making sure of the water levels at correct.

I'm also thinking of bringing rubber ducky and darth vadar shampoo..:)

I'm looking forward to see how it turns out :). I've been looking into floatation tanks for a while and so it will be great to see if they do have any drastic effect on attempts to OBE.

David Warner

Ap Friends,

Well, I was able to float today and it was relaxing, soothing and enjoyable experience. Although, I didn't project (boo-hoo) I was able to notice a few things about the tank, and in myself. I was in the sleep deprivation tank for 1hr and 30mins, wearing ear plugs and in pure darkness.

From what I notice is that during the obe, I'm really deep into the trance mind awake state. All physical consciousness is lost, not present and I'm completely relaxed. When I was in the tank it took some time to adjust and feel relaxed, at peace and comfortable. I did lose sense of time and drifted a bit from physical consciousness but would return. At first, I found my muscles tight then eventual would losen in time. I tried to relax in a laying position than found strain in my neck than positioned my arms upward and out as I'm reaching.

It was slippery fluid with a lot of salt in the tank which at the time I didn't realize that I had a few cuts which definitely amplified the sores..:) I still have abother 1hr and 30 minutes credit which I will do in the next few weeks. I'm thinking of trying this in the morning while I've been up for a few hrs and hopefully yield a obe.

I've video with audio narration that I'll add to my web site www.invisiblelight.us of the experience for download in the next 4-5 days. So check it out when it becomes availabe.

TVOS - When you were in the tank, were you expecting a certain outcome, like a normal projection or were you expecting anything different?

I've heard that a floatation tank can produce very transendental experiences different from a projection. I don't know if expectations would effect the outcome.

David Warner

Stookie,

I really didn't know what to expect honestly from the tank. I didn't know if I'd be comfortable, relaxed, if I was able to project or not. It did take some time getting use to and feeling comfortable w/o strain from my neck. I had to reach outward and up with my arms to balence. I neck would sink into the water while floating which cause strain but when changing position with my arms up and outward I felt comfy.

You don't realize how nice a bed is and how you can position yourself for a nice sleep.

I've the video and will document so everyone can see what it looks like.

TVOS, thanks for the update!

As far as getting comfortable, nothing like a Sealy Posturepedic!  :-D

I didn't even think about the possibilities of falling asleep and going under.  :-o   Has anyone seen AFV, where the lady fell asleep, face down in a pool with a snorkle and she was snoring?   I think I'll try that.. call it the redneck flotation tank.

Thanks for your report, Stookie, it was interesting! I hope you get an OBE next time.

Whenever I hear of sensory deprivation tanks now, I think of Maris (Niles' unseen wife on Frasier) because there was an episode in which she used one.

The video is almost complete - I'm just working on the rendering and making sure that it's not a huge download. I can't believe how video editing TAKES FOREVER to work on. Well, thats okay, I did a little editing so certain things wouldn't be too obvisous (my fat gut) ...:)

Ap Friends,

After a week's worth of video editing and still seems to be rough in some spots, I've now released for the public to view.

You can find the video in the video section of my site under 'Experiments' folder which is titled Sensory Deprivation (Float Tank) folder with video.

I'll be also be conducting another test this saturday at the float tank. We'll see what happens!

Enjoy,
