Coffee and OBE

In Monroe's second book, Monroe states that no drugs have any effect on him, his body rejects drugs one way or another. He threw up anything that remotely could be a drug like coffee.

Problem is that I drink some amount of coffee, even if I try to cut down on it. I wonder if the coffee/caffeine has anything to do with my inability to succeed with OBEs.

I wonder if anyone successful with OBE/APing has noticed any problems with drinking coffee or if you have experienced bigger sensitivity towards coffee or perhaps has been throwing it up?

Well, I can't give you anymore than my experience... and that is when I meditate at lunch, it's usually after two GIANT thermos-mugs of coffee.
I do feel like I can control my consciousness a bit more after it.

However, as in Monroe's case, it seems to be an individual thing.

Like, for instance... some people here, including Frank, could have one alcoholic drink and it would ruin their attempts for a day or two... meanwhile, I can have a single drink and it actually ENHANCES my focus.  More than one... MAYBE two... and I'm not projecting, at least not consciously.  LoL

Monroe's body rejected those things over time, and it was because of the changes he was going through. You might have noticed he didn't detail everything in his books, he did leave a lot of personal information out. I personally don't think it would be correct to say that X has X effect on projecting, it really depends on the person. Listen to your body and, at the risk of sounding cliché, your spirit. They'll tell you exactly what you need to know. If it tells you that coffee is hurting your chances, then so be it.

Based on my own observations I believe that anything which is healthy and in some way detoxifying for the body goes a long way in helping to project and with other energetic senses as well.

EDIT: But that does not mean that if you don't have a certain lifestyle you won't be able to project. The basics for projection are clear and that's all that's needed. Everything else is a secondary factor and you may indulge in them at your own leisure, but remember that nothing is going to result in an immense change of projection frequencies moreso than the basic techniques.

I was re-reading Monroes first book last night... and they did mention the coffee, then he got horribly sick afterwards... they didn't connect it to the coffee at the point I was at in the book.

My point here anyways, is that you're right... because it's obvious to me that he DID drink coffee at one point, probably not too long before his experiences started.  So it was definitely due to some change he was going through, be it physical or non-physical in nature.

Nice catch, AlanRK.  :)

I think I'll go have another cup.

I told you this in the chat, but i think you're fine.  A lot of people project fine even though they drink coffee.  Some people even use coffee to help they stay awake when they try to project.

Though there is always something to be said for a lifestyle choice that you may feel is impeding your way.  If you feel like you need to take it easy on coffee, try not drinking some for a couple weeks and see if it makes a difference.  That's the only way you can really know.
be awesome.

I drink coffee in the morning and tea during the day and night.
