Has anyone ever bothered to talk with their Subconscious?

I've been reading on LD forums that a popular thing to do is to talk with their subconscious.  In essence talking with yourself or another aspect of "the self", much like another aspect of our "high-selves".  Even though most LD'rs don't believe in AP they essentially do the same things, but this is not something I have read much on these forums.  I wonder if instead of talking with your guides asking for help to AP or whatever, maybe just communicate with your subconscious to help speed along process, of course this would be easiest to some degree within a LD.

It's not "essentially" the same thing... LD and AP *ARE* the same thing.  Or at least as far as I'm concerned.  Most people don't really understand what they're talking about when they use those terms... they're stuck on the old mystical connotations for them.  I've learned these connotations/ideas/concept simply don't apply.  From my own direct experiences it would be very hard to prove to me otherwise.

For the other part of your question...
Yes, people do this on a constant basis.  When someone says that the experience came from "within" themselves, that's what they're referring to... although figuring out what's from "within" and what's from "without" is the issue.  In the large scheme of things it's not that a big issue really as it really doesn't matter... as long as the experience was a benefit to you, then it was positive for you.

Yeah Xanth, I know they are the same, that was just my way of saying it (words getting in the way of meaning  :-P)..

Oh yeah, I hear that all the time, the term "from within", I just assumed it was something more esoteric.  Well this has the potential to make my understanding of some of these posts when talk of "within" comes up.

Tanks Xanth!

Subconscious = Higher Self = God Self = I-There or Total Self (by R. Monroe) = Oversoul = etc ...

Subconscious is a psychological term and thus also used by the people who prefer a more 'materialistic' or mundane approach, the other ones are more metaphysical, 'esoteric', religious, new age or whatever. Yes, it more or less seems to express the same 'thing'.  8-)
