Alright, I woke up at 5 in the morning went to the bathroom came back then I recall remembering someone saying its best to astral project at 5-8 in the morning. So .. I went to sleep and woke up at like 6, I just opened my eyes. I had a feeling that this was the best time to try it since it would only take me to close my eyes to go back to sleep. So I closed my eyes, then I began to hear something as if I was underwater .. and I began to get this feeling of tingling and it felt cold. Then I heard my grandma calling my sisters name, I KNEW THAT I WAS NEAR A OBE! All I needed to do was the seperation, I Could feel my astral hands moving. But it was wayyyy to freak so I tried to get out, but I thought I got out until all of a sudden I was just deeply imagining I got out and I was still there paralyzed. I felt like 3000 pounds. So I tried tugging out again and it felt like I was tugging, but in reality I was just there in the same spot. After another try I snapped out of it and everything came back to normal.
This is the nearest I've ever gotten and let me tell you this, it was amazing. I had the vibration feeling, the sounds, everything.
it's true when ever i want to give this another try i will wake up at 5 in the morning set my alarm, and right when i open my eyes. i close them and give it a try.
shortly after this i had my first lucid dream that lasted very long.
great times, i told my sister about it in the morning but she just said "ASTRAL PROJECTIONA AHAHAHAHA".

Wow, congratulations! You remind me so much of myself the other night. I'm not experienced in any sense and (on a whim with not much knowledge on the subject of astral projection) tried to project three nights ago. I was sort of skeptical while reading about it, but wanted to see if anything would happen if I tried. I fell asleep late that night and woke up later on during the night around 3 (except, I think I woke up. This rational, skeptical side of me keeps wanting to say it was just a dream, but I know in my heart that I experienced something..no doubt about it). I was in a relaxed, calm state so I thought it would be a good time to start visualizing.

I began by visualizing my 'astral body' leaving the physical. I started with my arms and then to my whole body. After visualizing for a bit, I immediately started to feel vibrations all throughout my body (it felt similar to the vibrations one feels while standing close to loud music). I was NOT expecting to feel anything whatsoever while going in, so this definitely made my heart begin to race. Despite my racing heart, I kept visualizing and holding on...that's when I started to hear noises. The sound I heard was a low, bass-like pulsating sound (the only way I can describe it was a low WOMP WOMP WOMP WOMP). I had never in my life heard auditory sounds come from out of nowhere, so again, my heart began to race. When this bass-like noise began, I opened my eyes (in fear) and my vision was blurry and shaky. It was as if there was an internal earthquake going on within me and everything in my view was shaking. Like I stated before, I was not in any way expecting ANYTHING to happen, so when I experienced this, I got scared. Right before I stopped visualizing, I faintly heard popping in my ears. I squinted my eyes wanting for it to go away. I can't remember anything after that and I assume I fell asleep. Despite my fear, I can honestly say it was one of the most bizzare, amazing experiences I've ever had. When I woke up the next morning, I ran to my sister as well and she laughed at me too!

I've always been on the fence about these kinds of things, but whatever happened the other night has definitely made me more of believer.  I'm now frustrated at myself for stopping because I seriously think I could have gone farther if I had not gotten afraid, but I'm happy I had the experience I had nonetheless  :-)

I still find it rather strange that I was able to get so close on a first try. I can only assume that I was visualizing and doing the right things. I've had natural occurring lucid dreams since childhood and I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it at all. Hmm..

Wow, we have very similar experiences. I always stop attempting OBES because I get freaked out, I need to have someone there with me in the room so I'll have the courage because it's pretty freaky on your first time no doubt.
