Was about 1.30 pm and im having an afternoon nap. Had about an hour of relaxation and no avail cos of noises and figiting . then i relaxed again and omg the vibrations hit me really fast. And this wasnt just pins and needles (which is probably what ive felt every failed attempt ). THis was intense . I kinda paniced a bit but remember not to be scared so i whispered it to myself. I began trying to separate and managed to do something.

Everything was labored as if gravity had increased. i cant really explain the expierience in detail because it was over in 20 seconds , but things i remember ... able to feel the texture of my chair infront and above me when i stuck my hands out. I remember alot to do with looking at my feet. I remember trying to move my hand but I moved my physical hand so i started separation with the feet.

I did try the rope technique and this got me levitating to the ceiling but i collasped bsck into my body.

Waking up didnt feel like waking up from a dream. all just felt like a transition.

My vision was strange. I can only describe it as looking through a window with light reflecting from it so you have almost two images.

This expierience was really surreal. I was conscious all the way through it. sorry if this reads as a rush. im just so excited ive got to jot this all down somewhere!

What have you done that day before you went to bed to have a nap ?

Maybe something that you have eaten or an exercise has stimulated it.

Congratz on the experience.

Congrats. I've had the "laboring" feeling you describe. I've read it will go away if you move away from the physical body further, like jump out your window. Also, have you heard of "deepening" techniques once you are out? Something like staring at your hands and feeling around your room will put you deeper and more solidly into the experience.

It wasnt a bed as such. Just a reclining chair. I basically just did my usual morning routine work. Mentally exhausting but a bit physical too. Just to note that before i found about ap , a month ago , I had always used lunch breaks to have mini-naps where you just faze out a bit but your not really asleep. When i found out about AP , ive been trying every lunch to induce the AP because after a bit of research i think my body is used to the whole theta mumbo jumbo so its like prime time to ap...(or so i think!)

I had a macdonalds sausage and egg mcmuffin meal for breakfast at around 8.30 (could be the stuff they put in the meat! lol ) . My OBE was at 1.30.

What I can remember and this may sound strange is that I had pursed my lips and put my head down a bit.( only thing i did different.

Also the vibrations hit me really quick ,l like 5 seconds and bam ! , then cos i think i was excited i was already trying to separate after another 5 seconds after the "oh excrement! wtf wooh its flipping happening!!

and another wierd thing is that my awareness never really changed from being in the obe to getting back into my body. It was like "oooh im in my obe ..ok time to go back..ok im back...cool..im back , can move...time to get up! surreal!!

Just a question...

What is generally the success rate for gaining an obe.
I mean do even the pros sometimes fail and does it become easier to gain through expierience.

Yes, it becomes easier the more you project. As for the failure rate, that varies. Personally i project just about every time i attempt.

Same for me as astral addict. I do about 50% of the times I try. and I mean when I really try. As in when I arrange my sleep schedule, meditate before and during trying to enter a phase. but when I am in bed or doing a regular nap its less than 50% for me because I'm not too serious about it and didn't fully prepare. Its all with the power of intention. You are the master of your mind so if you will it, and prepare mentally and physically for it, you can do it more often.

Hello again, I have been away for awhile. I was a merchant at the Minnesota State Fair for the last 14 days. I worked from 9am until 11pm every night, long hours at the fair. I didn't try to Phase at all during this time, but found myself every night/morn waking at 3:00 ma on the dot, just returning from an OBE. I have come to realize that once you start into this program of phasing, you really can't stop it. I think it becomes a part of you. I really needed my sleep, as having to wake up at 6am to get ready for work and doing my book work until 12, sometimes 1am after the show. I did though get a chance during the fair to enlighten a number of fellow merchants whom dwell all across the United States. These people have also found an uncanny calling to the world of conscious Astral Travel.

I am the owner of the company. So everynight I had to count the money and do the book work. That's the perks of being the boss.  :-(

That's exactly what it was like for me the other day. I just forced myself to get up, and once away from my body moving was easy.  :-)
