Hi, im new to the forums and I would like to see if this idea I thought about can be tested or will be willing to be tested I'm sure some of you will be up to the challenge because who doesn't like fun?

The idea is to simply play the role of a hero in any story, star wars, lord of the rings, if anyone has played zelda ocarania of time that one would be awesome of course not all of us are nerds so pick one of your favorite stories. The way you could acomplish being in any of these stories is get a piece of paper out write down who you want to be in what story and place the paper on the floor of your room and as soon as you project and can move around just touch the paper and the feelings and motives you put in the words should launch you off into a fantasy world of the story right before your eyes. You could also write down that you want the story to be more creative and exciting with more twists or simply put down I want the story to be as intresting as it can be for my personality(this suits everyones needs easily :-P). The subconcious mind is able of making any story up instaneously so you could write down plainly a want to be in a fun-filled story and you will experience it. Another thought is if you aren't to intrested in being a character you could be a spectator of sorts for the story going on (If your a director I've just given you a goldmine right there). Be openminded to it and it could be worthwhile.

I actually do that, and it works, but in the beginning I recommend doing easier things, like imagining something you do routinely -- i.e. imagine that you're getting dressed and walk to the store, imagine the different items you'll pick up, imagine yourself at the register, placing the items on the conveyor thingy...

The trick is to try very hard to stay in "real time" -- when we imagine a scenario, we have this tendency to skip ahead. If you find yourself skipping ahead, go back and redo it from the moment you skipped. Make sure that an event that takes place over 3 minutes really does take 3 minutes to visualize.

At the beginning, it'll be hard to focus on your story, because all you can see is the darkness of your eyelids... Mental images will be like very weak memories that flash for a split second... It's only about 1 or 2 minutes in that you'll start actually seeing glimpses of things instead of your eyelids... If you manage to maintain the state without flinching, you'll be able to enjoy a completely immersive lucid dream...

Problem is, the more vivid you manage to make it, the harder it is to remember that you have a physical body... Usually you'll lose track of it and literally forget that you're in control... Most likely falling asleep in the process..

It takes a lot of practice not to get startled by the first pictures and how naturally they actually come to you... And not forgetting what happened once the whole thing became super vivid is even more difficult :p

The problem KIWI is that when you are in AP you don't think like you think in RZ, at lot of things you think are cool now seems superficial when you AP at least thats my experience.

Kiwi I don't understand if you actually went out of body to touch the paper or if you were just doing visualization techniques. The visualizing does work in time to have a story going but I am more curious if the "touching story on paper" technique will work when going out of body. The story could be condensed in feelings of what is happening around the character rather than taking the longest time to show every scene of what is going on in the story. This way the longest story can fit a 20min OBE. Being in a story also elimnates the chance of thinking of your body and being zapped back inside and it is very convient to not even leave your room to touch the piece of paper on the floor to have a adventure. I'm open to anyones opinions about or if anyone has tried something like it thanks for the replys.

Why dive into a fictional adventure when AP alone is already a REAL ONE?  Imagine the sense of adventure that LOTR brings, but for real, into your life. The reality of the universe is that amazing and more.

Oh, I missed that part about actually touching the paper while out of body... Yes, I was talking about a visualization exercise...

But so... You want to test the theory that it is possible to load an object with a set of memories (a story of an adventure) and then recover this adventure by touching the object out of body?

Thats awesome.  To  bad I suck at AP

why not try it with a poster or dvd cover from a movie and see what happens...

cavenstoy if the "touch story on paper technique" proves to be a success then even if you suck at AP you can just touch the paper wherever you put it in your room and it should take over the steering wheel of your AP journey.

The adventures out there are endless and to those experienced enough every day must be more exciting then the next but im trying to see if touching paper would work. Then those less attuned with the astral world could quickly jump into a story rather than taking everything in as it comes at them which could hinder their time APing.

Great idea but that would probably be one step up from writing down a story on paper because writing the story down on paper would make it more personal and understanding of what you want your subconcious mind to do. This is a more simplistic approach to what I would like tested and maybe a more advanced AP'er could get away with pulling this off...I guess whatever floats your boat.
Either way it'd be cool to know the outcome.

If anyone is testing this idea i'm greatly thankful for you and I wish you luck for a success.
