Interesting thoughts on ways to create pressure on your astral body

I just thought I should mention my findings on what I come to believe as ways to create pressure on your astral body to start an OBE or induce strong vibrations.

I've found out that you can create pressure on your astral body simply by putting yourself in a situation where your mind will worry about it.. heres an example..

I'm in science class one morning and I'm quite tired...  I'm sitting in my desk as everyone comes in to begin class and I prop my foot up on the lab counter ahead of me... my other foot Is underneith me.. I'm sitting on it.. and the other foot is firmly planted on this mini lab counter ahead of me.. the shoe's grips are holding it into place without it sliding onto the floor.. I can remember that I'm vaguely thinking of how my shoe might lose grip and fall to the floor waking me up but I ignore it..

Then I can feel myself starting to drift off to sleep.. but my foot is falling of the counter!! So I move my foot to reposition it where it was before , BUT , to my surprise.. it hasnt moved in the first place... this happends a couple more times before I realize that it hasnt moved at all and that it was not going to move.. so I figure I would ignore this foot slipping feeling and just let it fall next time it starts feeling that way again..

So here it goes again , the foot starts slipping.. this time I ignore it.. then right before it should have hit the floor it slows down it's falling momentum and begins to feel very light and floaty .. then I realize I'm in paralysis because I can start to hear the "whoom woom" sounds of vibrations.

That experience has stuck in my mind for a long time now and I started to put some pieces of this puzzle together here recently.. take this next example for instance..

I'm in an uncomfortable wooden schooldesk in American History class..  I can't put my head down on the desk because the teacher will not like that so , being the rebel I was , I found a way to sit up and fall asleep in that class instead. (Yeah I was a big slacker in highschool)..   So I would get in the exact same position each day which went a little like this...  I would be sitting on one foot meaning it was under my arse and the other foot was either resting on the floor or on one of the support legs of the desk below me or cocked to the side so that my foot rested inside the desk where you should normally put your books.. anyway it doesnt matter about the feet in this situation..I would have my left hand positioned in my lap palm up , cupping my right elbow .. my right hand palm up , cupping my lips.. .my head pointed down so that my lips met my hand and yes this position looks painful and for the most part wasnt too comfortable.. So my back was hunched over , my head bent down , not too comfortable but just enough to let me fall asleep..  In this position my spine was sort of hitting the back of the chair in an uncomfortable way so I had to sit more to one side of the chair so that my boney spine wouldnt be poking against the hard surface as much as it was... this made me worry about falling out the chair sideways once I fell asleep**

Well , after a while I would start slipping out the chair and when I did I would try to reposition myself but again to my surprise .. I hadn't moved at all...  the same situation as the above experience with my foot slipping..  except my worry of my back sliding out the side of the desk was causing my whole backside to separate.. leading to vibrations and more noticably in this instance , astral vision.

I never once fell out that desk like that but before I knew what was really going on I decided "ok enough with this slipping crap , I'm just gonna fall out next time!" and so I did just that .. but I fell out of body .. my physical body was still safely in the desk.. it was so cool to separate like that effortlessly but so scary because I could not tell if I was really slipping out or if it was going to happen the way it did.. I got astral sight when I was just inches away from the floor.

This realization has opened my mind to all sorts of ideas and techniques  that I will be posting on my website soon.. I'm assuming this is a way to create pressure on your astral body by simply creating some kind of subconcious fear or worry..  It was simply the worry of my foot slipping off the lab counter that made me somehow focus more on that particular limb and made me aware of it's separation right at the time of sleep.. same thing with my body slipping out the side of the chair.. I remember being very concious of my body and particularly my spine area and worrying that at the point of sleep when my body went more limp and limber that I would not fall out the desk.. it felt like breathing would make me slip more and more off to one side as well when it really didnt.. so that might be important to note when creating your own technique..

I'm working on a way to put this into simpler terms so when my website is up I'll post the link and let everyone in on all these fresh new techniques I've come up with and more importantly the answers to why I believe they work in the first place as well as disecting some of the more popular techniques and methods already out there on the web that have helped so many people experience and OBE..  I've always been one to try to figure out the How's and Why's of something and when it comes to my favorite hobby of astral projection , what a challenging phenomena to figure out ;)

Let me know what you all think about this "Astral Pressure with your subconcious worry" thing. Like first of all .. what else could I call it?  hehe

Peace out!

PS: Its not going to be up for another month or two but my website will be  http://www.freewebs.com/project_astral

Its basically just underconstruction but it will have  3 main parts for techniques .. Beginner, Intermediate,  and Advanced .. and A "Breakdown" section to get people familiar with some of the terms I'll be using like "astral body , chakra , vibrations" just to name a few.  Its going to be a website that anyone from any level of astral projecting will be able to gain something from as well as a way for me to offer my own theories on how the process works.. I'll have a message board and stuff on there and will always be open to answering mail from anyone if they have any questions.  I dont ever plan for it to be a huge hit .. I'm just aiming to helping someone experience something like an OBE that has changed my life in so many ways. Expect it to be working nicely in mid January when I'm off to college and have access to the net to start posting my pages up there.. I would have it up earlier but my computer is sitting in a place with no internet and my DvD burner isnt working so I cant get the pages I made to the webserver =/ Bleh..
Later!

Cool stuff! It could be called 'discomfort method for astral projection'.

I find it really cool how you're able to achieve astral consciousness just sitting like that.

I have to be very tired for it to happen to me. Last time it happened was going back home by bus. The passenger on my side turned on the fan, I was feeling cold, but was so tired that I just ignored it and kept watching the scenes go by on the window. Next I'm with eyes closed watching the scenes go by, nonsensical scenes. Wasn't even feeling my body anymore, but I didn't want to get too far, so I kept waking me up.

I've had experiences like that before. I haven't been entirely separated from my body, but then I've never tried to do it.

I know your astral body becomes looser when you are extremely tired. It's harder to concentrate but you definately begin to feel the astral body separating ealier than you would usually and with a lot less effort.

Looking forward to your website.

You know come to think of it, my experiences I posted on this thread really had a lot to do with sleep deprivation and they both occured during a time when I was following a similar sleeping pattern.. For those who are interested , you might find this useful.

Both experiences were probably made possible much easier because of my sleep pattern.. sleep deprivation must have played a major part in them both.

I would go to sleep at about 1:30-2:30am and have to wake up for the first school bus at 6:15...
I would stumble around my room in a zombie-like manor trying not to wake myself up too much and somehow manage to dress myself , brush my teeth and put on my deoderant (if I was lucky).. then I would catch the bus at about 6:30 or 6:45..

I would sleep sitting upright in the bus seat as soon as I sat down because I remember not even opening my eyes hardly at all from the time I woke up to the time I got on the bus .. I found that the more I opened my eyes the more awake I would be so you if you can imagine keeping your eyes to a squinting level the whole time this is going on .. thats how I was even to the point where I made it to my desk in school.. just to not wake myself up too much..

Anyway , so here I am on the bus taking a long power nap until the bus stops at around 7:30 at the middle school... I would then wake up and board the highschool bus (if I was lucky) and take another 15 minute powernap until it reached it's destination..

I would then stand around until the bell started ringing to let everyone into the building and as soon as I reached my classroom with my books (if I was lucky hehe..) I would have one of the experiences I mentioned in my first post.

So basically it went like this
1:30 to 2:30am Bedtime
Wake up at 6:15
Catch first bus at 6:45
Sleep for an on and off (thanks to the bumps) period of 45 minutes
Get on the next bus and sleep another 15 minutes
Stand outside school for another 15 minutes (like a zombie .. everyone knew not to mess with me in the mornings  , I would simply not reply to maintain my half-asleep state)
Then Arrive at my desk roughly at 7:50

When in class I would sit in the desk in the position desribed earlier and wait.. simply listening to the students drag into class and gossip noisily about God know what..  I would passively focus on random conversations while remaining still and comfortable trying to go right back to sleep and by about the time the teacher would quiet everyone to start his lecture I was experiencing vision through my eyelids or paralysis and vibrations running up my spine...

Sometimes I would get caught up in a visualization of what the teacher was lecturing about.. One day he was talking about submarines and I found myself standing in the middle of the pacific on a submarine that was launching missles at another submarine across the way and I didnt realize that I was truly in that scene until it was too late and I drifted off into a dream.. but I remembered when I woke up..

So I think its safe to say that this particular way to leave my body was able to be executed fairly regularly (at least 2-3 times a week) and under similar circumstances (sleep deprived and passively listening to a multitude of random things/distractions around me)...

One interesting thing to note is that once I would feel the vibrations or paralysis come on .. or when I just knew I was about to leave my body , I would feel a smile come onto my physical body's face... its the last thing I felt in my physical body before separate was a grin...  And classmates asked me why I always smile and even giggle while I'm sleeping!! I thought that was quite cool..  They verified for me that I indeed did smile when leaving my body.

So to those of you who believe you need to be completely comfortable , well rested , and in a quiet place to astral project.. toss it out the window because honestly and wholeheartedly I tell you that I've never projected so easily and so often in my life than under these circumstances.

I'm trying to come up with ways to recreate these OBEs without being in school.. Maybe waking up real early in the morning and flipping onto the news (or anything that you would really want to watch) and instead of watching any of it , simply turn a different direction and listen to it , maybe it would keep your mind just active enough to stay awake and your body would go to sleep because you woke it up so early..??

I dont know if I mentioned when my site would be up but it should be up by at least January 12th when I get into college and get into a dorm and stuff. I'll post some more details about what my site contains closer to the launch date.  I hope everyone can gain something from it.. if you like my explanations and theories then it is something worth checking out because it will be filled with mostly my interpretations of things.  I've not done any reading on astral projection other than this forum and posting questions here early on in my development so most of my ideas are simply from me freelance practicing.  It might prove to be a quite different approach on how to achieve astral projection for yourself from a beginner , intermediate , or advanced skill level.

Peace out fellas.

Another thing that I'm finding makes it easier to project is simply being on these forums. I'm waking up a lot more out of my body. Perhaps talking about it constantly is playing a big part on my subconscious.

Sounds like a good method to try, maybe try and put it in a way others can do, some kind of position maybe?

But good stuff, I'll definely have a play with it.

Cheers!
