I've had a couple strange experiences that I can't easily dismiss as simply dreams. My vision is never very good and it feels cloudy like a dream, but everything is too real and natural. My dreams are always very distorted and weird. But these experiences weren't. I kept a log as soon as I woke up from each of them. I'll post them below. I really want to know if you guys think these were legitimate OBE's and if so how I might learn how to control my energy body more effectively. Prior to these experiences I have been trying to project for over a month now. I was excited when the first happened. Even more when I only had to wait five days for another. I'm just hoping this is real. I'd like to know what other people think.

October 22nd
It was just before 7:30. The whole experience only lasted for what seemed like maybe 20-30 seconds. After the bug dream I fell asleep once and woke back up. This experience occurred just after I had presumably fallen back to sleep. My body felt like it was emanating energy. I did not have the usually vibrations that I'm used to. It was just calm, soothing energy. Realizing something was up I decided to try a different technique since the rope technique wasn't working for me. I simply tried to quiet my mind and let myself slip out of my body. I concentrated on the darkness in the back of my eyes and cleared my mind except for a few stray images of myself slipping out of my body. I began to feel like I was slipping horizontally for maybe 6-7 inches. My astral head was somewhere near/in my physical chest. I began to float upwards a little and decided to open my eyes to see what was really happening. My vision was not very good. But I was in my room, and everything was as it should be. So I don't think this was just a normal dream. I continue to float around, trying to adventure more, but it felt like my feet were stuck in my physical body still. I try maneuvering around and twisted myself into weird positions, but couldn't break free. Everything went black for a couple seconds, and then I opened my physical eyes and looked around. At first I tried to attribute the experience to me just being tired and unknowingly sitting up and looked around the room. I didn't have my contacts in so my vision was pretty similar to in the experience. But as I'm writing this I remembered that I was moving around and I felt stuck to my feet. I know I hadn't been moving. What happened was not physical. Could have been a dream. But it didn't feel like any dream I've had. I think I finally had something I am read to consider an OBE. Hopefully now that I've had one that I remember pretty well, this will open the doorway to more. Also, everything seemed to appear brighter then when I woke up and viewed the room with my physical eyes. I couldn't get away from my bed to explore the room more, but that could be how everything looks in this realm. Everything emits a glow because everything IS energy. The only reason I'm having trouble believing the truthfulness of this experience is because I was not conscious when the OBE was induced. I had fallen asleep, but I kind of woke up as it was happening. Enough to concentrate and perpetuate it. If this was indeed a dream, then my subconscious is very tricky.

As I'm typing it is 6:45. I was starting to enter the hypnagogic state, I think. It's also possible that I was already dreaming when I started to concentrate on some visuals of myself slipping out of my body like last time. I slipped out horizontally again. I looked around and couldn't see all that well with my vision. I demanded clarity, didn't get much. I was just kind of hovering around. I floated away from the bed and toward my fan. Then I started to fall slowly through the floor into the apartment below. At this point my back was pointing downward, so I saw everything above me as I fell. I began to fall incredibly fast; this is probably due to my ingrained perception of gravity. Gravity means nothing in the astral unless I make it mean something. I'll have to remember that for next time. I was scared and demanded for the falling to stop. It didn't. As I passed one of the apartments I heard music. My demands were pretty worthless. I continued to fall until there was nothing. I was just falling through the Earth and could not see or perceive anything. At one point I thought I was in a huge cavernous area with a row of pipes gushing water into the abyss. Eventually I gave up on trying to control what was happening. I just let myself fall. It was kind of peaceful. I closed my eyes. Falling and falling and then I fell right back into my body. Very trippy. I want to think this was real. But I don't know. I've been led to believe that the astral realm is thought responsive, but so far I haven't been able to do anything with my thoughts. I just float around and things happen out of my conscious control. I guess I'll learn control with more experiences. Or it was just a dream.

Seems like genuine OBEs to me, congrats. Full control in the astral is more of a privilege than a right, in my experience anyway. Even with full awareness and clarity I'm still subject to getting dragged around on the occasion. Sometimes it's refreshing to relax and enjoy the ride.

Both of them where seemed like legit OBE's to me. Also an easier way for clarity is to look at your hands, touch yourself (like your face or so something), and the most powerful way (from reading a certain post a while ago) is to briefly meditate in a full lotus position(while in the astral or Lucid Dreaming), from what several people had told me, it makes the experience seem even more realistic than "real life".  When you are trying to exit out try to re-enact the elevator feeling, or the rollor coaster feeling that you experience in your stomach. Never open your physical eyes, just look at the images around you, they'll most likely form into an astral landscape. Keep up the good work! :-D
So close but so far to projecting. It'll come one day, i'll just have to wait.

Oh good. I just got into this stuff a couple months ago and have been pretty skeptical, but very determined also. I couldn't dismiss it if I didn't try it myself. And then I had these weird experiences.thanks for the advice. I'll have to try the lotus and stuff next time it happens.
