Hello. [:)]

What are the five levels of consciousness that you speak of?

Thanks.

Celestial Sounds.

1 = Waking state
2 = Day dream type trance
3 = Trance where your mind has no knowledge of your body, like a void trance
4 = Deep trance, for OBE's etc.
5 = Enlightenment with 'God'

Hmm, you don't necessarily have to be in deep trance to have an obe. Actually it would take longer to get out if you're too deep in it.

For me it is:

1 = Waking state
2 = Day dream type trance
3 = Trance for OBE's etc.
4 = Deep trance, where your mind has no knowledge of your body, like a void trance
5 = Enlightenment with 'God'

At level 3 I feel slight vibrations, the sounds from the physical plane get distorded, feeling like electricity is flowing through my body and stuff. If I open my physical eyes I may see the blanket rising, lights floating around, origamis hehe, multicoloured insects.

At level 4 I feel like I'm in a dark hall, sometimes there's a faint light at the center, and once I heard robot-like voices. I also feel vulnerable, as if something is gonna happen at anytime.

Where does this silence come from?

The scale seems to be a bit condensed to me. A moderate trance is halfway to enlightenment? The first two on the list seem to overlap to me. The challenge can actually be staying out of a trance state, especially when sleep deprivation is involved.

Thanks for all your input guys, but can you answer my original question about meditation please? [:)]

Quant,

I'd go with -
"when level 3 comes i know about it, because, when i fall out of the trance i think to myself "ok, where did the time go?", you know that you had just lost contact with everything."

The state of meditation you described with the heavy body is where your physical relaxation is getting to that "mind awake body asleep" stage. The difference between this and a trance state is that your still aware of your body. Despite the fact that you feel like you really don't want to move anything, you still can. when you enter a trance, even that little awareness of your body dissappears.

To me trancs happens when my mind goes silent, i am aware of the silence and there is a certain hum to my awareness, however i don't have to be in this state to project.
In the world in general and in this nation
May not even the names disease, famine, war, and suffering be heard.
May virtuous qualities, merit, and prosperity greatly increase
And may continuous good fortune and subline well-being perfectly arise.

OK.  Here goes.
I have just recently found out about the 5 levels of consciousness.
Basically, my question is, how do you know when you are in a trance.
Level 2 i guess is fine, i will be laying there and just...laying, when level 3 comes i know about it, because, when i fall out of the trance i think to myself "ok, where did the time go?", you know that you had just lost contact with everything.
Say, i get to level 4, which i am trying to do, how do you know when you are at that point, because when i am meditating, apart from level 3 because like i said, your mind goes completely blank, i feel as though i could open my eyes at any time, move parts of my body.
OK, most the time if i meditate for a while, my whole body becomes very heavy, but it doesn't mean i can't move it, i could move it if i wanted it...

I just want a detailed explaination that i could relate to so i know how far i am getting...

Thanks
