Perhaps mind is just another word for imagination.
The mind could be o.o A lot of things, depending on peoples def. To me...the "mind" is my "soul" in a sense. Not the actual brain. >> But to other people it might mean something different ^_^

The closest I've ever gotten to a defenition of the mind is that it's a consienceness. I have my own mind, you have yours. It's your own special set of unique brain patterns.
if mind = consciousness, then you still have to define consciousness, therefore you have to define mind.
Mind is more than brain patterns. Mine has parts that are definitely not in my brain.
Mind is very closely related to consciousness. A bacteria has a consciousness but its evolution is limited but from my understanding mind is usually refer to human consciousness where development of it seems to has a mystical side and unlimited.
Mind has the ability to think. The mind processes information of all sensation we received. The mind is the real observer of the external and internal world. The mind can be used to study the mind itself as I am doing now.The mind is our consciousness which develops at the direction of thinking. The mind is required to express all emotions including love.
Let's say,in simple terms, the mind is our non-physical intellect.
I am not the expert of explaining what actual is mind but I can list down what mind can do just to get an idea what actually is the elusive concept of mind.Isn't what we do when we try to grasp a meaning of something.

The Kingfisher English Dictionary states that the mind is the following.
The interlectual power in man, understanding, cast of thought and feeling, inclination, opinion, memory.
As you can see, we have no clue whatsoever LOL[:D]
(I don't mean to insult anyone's intelligence, I mean mind, I mean... err... whatever... Don't be offended anyway)

Maybe you can answer this, what is the mind exactly ? is it the couscience ? maybe the conscience, the subconscious and the memory ? Robert Bruce made many reference to mind in his book without explaning what they really are! Please help! :)
