The main youtube video titled "Everyone can Astral Project part 1" The technique that is used in this video is called what? So that I can get a written run down on how it works some where else.

The technique is a typical 3rd eye focus one. Oliver Fox described it well in the Pineal Doorway article. It is very effective if you can concentrate and if you can actually "see" like a little "vortex" where the 3rd eye is located. However it doesn't happen to everybody, it depends. Apart this, I don't like the guy telling that this or that should happen, because this is NOT how it works. It is absolutely not said that everybody will experience the same things, at all.

For example I never experienced the focus going up/down as he mentions, and experienced a lot more things that he neither talks about and that are much more common (as seeing flash of lights or as a light at the end of a tunnel, or the typical seeing the room with eyes closed, or similar things). Categorizing too much in these sort of things only nail you down to what is good/bad, and this in turns can destroy your attempts.

I don't either like he telling that this is the ONLY way to do it. This is nonsense. The term OBE/AP includes so many experiences in it that giving only a "method" as the universal one is like giving only a proper way to love.

I agree with Selea.

Simply put, I can pretty much guarantee that you will not experience anything like he described.  Why?  Because it's an individual experience.
Although, now that you've actually heard him say what he's experienced, you might experience some similarities just because you now have expectations... but you need to drop those.

I'm not a big fan of this guys technique, because it simply doesn't make much sense to me.
Where you see the "afterimage" of the candle IS NOT going to be where your consciousness is.  That's absurd...

But in any case, give it a try anyways, and judge for yourself.  :)

I've been trying this 3rd eye technique, since I read a post from Frank where he says just turn your physical eyes in the direction of your third eye.

The problem is that it hurts my eyes to look up, even just a little, and then when I open my eyes again, everything is blurry, and I can barely see. This goes away after 5-10 minutes. Frank says your eyes get used to it after awhile, but mine don't seem to... I've been practicing this for about 3 weeks, and my eyes just don't seem to be getting used to it, does it take longer maybe? I'm considering ditching this method before I permanently injure my eyes...

Has any one else done this? I'd love to hear about it.

Quote from: FrankImagine looking at yourself in a mirror and you had drawn a 1cm diameter circle in red felt-tip pen, in the centre of your forehead about 2.5cm up from where your nose joins to your forehead. That's about where you need to be, focal-point of consciousness-wise.

You will probably find that the moment you begin doing it, i.e. letting your focal point rise to the correct place, your eyes will "grab it back". You have to teach the eyes to let go and allow the focal point of consciousness to rise up as I describe.

Quote from: Franklet your eyes roll back so they are looking upwards. You see, this is SO HIGHLY EFFECTIVE because your focal point of awareness, when you are awake, tends to follow the eyes. Point the eyes up, and your focal point of awareness goes...

At first, you may experience stress in the eye muscles. So relax them until the strained feeling goes away and try again. Try to concentrate on not physically holding the eyes up. Just let them roll back naturally. Which they WILL do after just a little practise.  [from Manny.. Hmm.. how do you do it "not physically" but "naturally"]

I also have had the same problem in trying to go to sleep with moving my eyes up. What I do now if I have to is, move your eyes up as much as comfortably possible and just focus your attention on your frontal lobes or 3rd eye or what ever, as if you were actually looking all the way up. So you get the same brain effect without the eye straining effect. Hope that helps.

i have the same problem i could do it at first but my eyes have been hurting when i try to look up...since they started i notice instead of rolling back or lookin up eventually they end up lookin downward or just lower and i end up drifting off to sleep, i know thta this works for me cus it has before but damn my eyes hurt from trying so much and i kno that while im feelin the pain in my eyes im not comfortable enough to AP.! been trying other techniques and just sitting and just repeating over n over i astrla project i astral project or mind awake body asleep etc. but none bring the "star scene" that i get with the 3rd eye technique.
