I hear music in obe very often....funny cause a couple of times the "astral band" would play Masssive Attack, or Tori Amos sound alikes...it was hilarious because the singing wasn't really good, and the lyrics very out of nowwhere...like:
\sweet, my sweet jealousy, I discover ectasy I discover colors"...lol...has anyone heard this song anywhere?????
Celestial music????wow!...do you have any more info on it???

Hello to all,

I don't want to degrade this wonderful phenomena by explanation, but I have one. You could read that @
http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=12177

If you're experience the music again, try to concentrate on the noise "behind it". You could balance beetween noise and music to a point when you're able to get out.

Interesting...but written in horribly difficult english...but thats my problem;))lol...
anyways i'll go fetch my dictionary...
um...I do see a difference between the music I hear and the sounds I hear when I'm getting out..(all the screeching, radio tuning, etc.)..so I don't know if it's the same thing were talking about or...egh.. I'll try to understand what you are saying first.
thanks

Thanks for the article Upstream, very interesting indeed. I've heard this theory before and believe that it could quite possibly be one of many explanations for this phenomenon.

Hannah, the music I'm talking about sounds like something you'd hear on the radio or at the concert hall, only a thousand times more beautiful. It almost seems to resonate from within, though it sounds like it's coming from outside oneself. I've tried, just for fun, to see if I can shape the melodies myself by concentrating on doing so, and lo and behold, it conforms to the musical ideas in my head. Other times I can't, no matter how hard I try, affect it in the slightest. I have to confess that I'm a musician myself, so maybe all of this could be the imaginings of my own creation, even if subconscious.

The sounds you speak of (screeches, etc) sounds like stuff you'd hear while in the hypnagogic state, and is definitely different from what I'm referring to. One sounds like something you'd hear on the radio (orderly, with a definite melody and rythm), the other like jumbled, chaotic, noise.

BTW I understand your english quite well. [:D]

Celestial Music eh? I wish it would happen more often Thelou, but unfortunately it's been years since I last heard it.

BTW gang, I found two interesting links, one from an eastern point of view, the other from the western, which talks about this phenomenon.

nitetravler,

"Hannah, the music I'm talking about sounds like something you'd hear on the radio or at the concert hall, only a thousand times more beautiful. "

Yup yup that's it!!!it's also so peaceful that once I thought I reached heaven;;)))
I also can shape the melody, make it softer or more melodic...I remember that before hearing that Massive Attack?Tori Amos band, I was like, ugh that other music is boring...and then it changed to Massive Attack..lol...I didn't know that my guardian angels have a band!!..lol..they'd do anything for me, even if the outcome is very cheesy..my boys;))

Thanks for the links, they seem very interesting!
all the best

One thing just crossed my mind....
In one of the posts about the"hitchiker", I wrote about this incident where this catlike thing bit itsself to the back of my head...as I said I didn't feel the pain, because I started feeling loving warmth and beautiful music and I didn't fight because I thought that however discusting it seems, the incident might be good...this was "the" music we're talking about...
now, knowing now, that this creature was probably a negative...hmm..did it play a trick on me???How was it connected to the music???
I'm really confused...Any ideas??

I do not know exactly what causes celestial music.  But I have heard several theories.  Everything from Angels singing, to it is a byproduct of the entire Universe vibrating.  All of them sounded good in spirit, but I have not come across any theory that I feel is the ultimate right answer.

It seems that most religions have their own opinion on it.

I did a google search that came up with over 13,000 hits.  I looked at the first few pages.  None of them actually seemed to be talking about the same stuff we are.  So I don't actually know what causes it.

The only thing that I do know is that it is beautiful.  And it gives the listener the feelings of peace and love.

Thanks for the interesting links.

If anyone does find anything that talks about what it really is please post it here.  I like many of you, would really like to find an answer to this question.

IDEA!!  The next time someone AP's in the RTZ speak out loudly and clearly something like "celestial music", or "what is celestial music" and see what happens.[:D][:D][:D]

Just a thought. Since I was never in a full blown OBE, but instead in that peculiar twilight state just before, or in my case - AFTER sleep, I wonder if one can tune in, as with the H-Band noise, this particular frequency with the proper concentration? I'm thinking that this may be something that can be 'tuned' into without leaving the body.

You can request any music you like in your APs. Also, you're able to mold the music on fly, which is, at least in my case, alwasy seems to be the "remix" version of the original.

Hearing music works best when I'm just flying. Unfortunately, flying could destabilize my projections and will turn them into a state very close to hipnagogia/hipnopompia, the state where the music is originated from.

So be careful, requesting music could awake you. But this can be a very useful practice. You're able to re-paralyse your body by balancing at the line where the music and noise turn to each other. If you take bath in the hipnagog music/noise, your brain will accustomed to it, making new connections.

I've learned to tune in to the astral music...it usually comes right before complete unconsciousness when I'm in deep trance. Its also very hard to hold on to if you think about it too much. I beleive the music is created by the listener. I can control it, and craft it, but with so much ease. Its as if you become a musical genious when you are near the astral. I've often tried to wake up and translate it onto guitar for use in a song, but the astral music has so much complexity that it can be a difficult task.

This is exactly what I used to experience before almost all of my self-induced APs.

That's absolutely right, the more you try to make it last, the quicker it fades out, but if you relax and flow with it, the experience lasts much longer.

I agree, some of these experiences I feel ARE the product of the experiencer, especially when as you pointed out, you can shape the melody, etc, but I'm not so sure of the expeiences where the melodies don't respond to a person's will.

Last Night I projected over my bed, it was awesome! In my dream though before I projected was the most moving and beautiful music, i was so one  with the music, it was pure passion. This music manifested to me as none other the insane clown posse!! Can you believe it! How it was beautiful and moving is not understandable to my natural thinking! It was like harp playing with acoustic guitar. One of the "clowns", namely shaggy 2 dope was like preachin talking about how he constantly screws up in life but doesnt let it get him down. I got the STRONG feeling that he was getting millions of minds off of their petty issues and freeing them by becoming the object of pain, freeing them....i know, its  deep, and NO i dont do drugs lol ~Tranq

I remember back in the 80's I would smoke some pot and play my guitar.  I started meditating deeply while I played.  My hope was that I could use my subconscious to learn how to play better.  One day I started hearing the celestial music and actually started playing along.  But what was weird was that every note I heard I saw as a different color.  All the notes I was listening to became a very vivid optical vision.  There were thousands of colors, all flowing in a beautiful array of flowing movements.   It was the most amazing thing.  It was like I was at one with the music, and the colors.  Unfortunately it only happened that one time.

This is an interesting topic! Do yo know Giuseppe Tartini? He was a musician (dont know the century he lived)that one day dreamed about the Devil palying a great music. He waked up and created a nice song (it is said that it is  nice song, i dont personaly know it) but the self Tartini says that his music it is nothing compared to what i listened.

There are more things like this related to dreams, like scientific discovers, great poems, etc....

BTW: i have the idea that for some few times i dreamed about great songs, at some time ago...dont shure of it

I'm interested in it, too. In my country (which is not WS) we have a great old-school (I mean etheric) radio, playing classical music non stop. I making records by TotalRecorder Pro and using P2P client rmDC++ to download you know...the greatest music ever composed.

Hey Kazbadan, way cool site! I'll be doin' a lot of downloading over the next several days.

BTW, Tartini lived from 1692-1770, and the name of that little ditty he wrote was 'The Devil's Trill Sonata'

Here's a nice station that has something for everyone, including some great jazz violin.

Don't know what this is, but several times over the years while coming out of a dream I'll hear the most glorious music imaginable. Sometimes it sounds like a large symphony playing unearthly beautiful classical music, other times I'll hear a chorus of voices oohing or ahhing that's every bit as beautiful as the symphonic stuff.

The funny part is, it sounds absolutely real, as though a radio were turned on inside my head or something, or better yet, like standing in an incredibly huge auditorium that gives the music a slight echo. The experience is often quite moving.

Anybody out there ever hear the music of the spheres?

[Jeez, it's 5:30 am, I'm going back to bed [|)] ]
