I've heard vibrations are when you try to project, I've also heard of the quiet period afterward then you try to project. Just want this to be confirmed/discussed. In the video he says, the books/sources that tell you in order to project you must reach vibrations, is all misinformation. And according to Nick Newport when you hit vibrations "you're actually wasting energy, if you actually do end up out of body you can't have any fun because it would be dark and you wouldn't be able to move easily".

All I hit are vibrations, rarely any audio, and this would help a lot for me and others alike. My vibrations end all the time but it feels like I'm just lieing there i.e no trance feelings, dissociation. I can't say if I undergo sleep paralysis because you would have to move in order to be sure. The "lead blanket" feeling to me seems like deep relaxation. I've been practicing and I may be on track with reaching vibes and such, so I thought this would be a nice time to make this thread.

I only ever experienced the vibrations during my early failed attempts. Dont get them anymore for successful or unsuccessful attempts.

I suspect that might be because of all the energy/chakra work I've done since my first attempts but I'm just guessing.

My impression is that people gets the vibrations in the beginning when their non-physical bodies are less developed. My impression is also that some people think of the vibrations as energy flowing through non-physical body channels, and in the beginning those channels are underdeveloped. When the non-physical body becomes more developed, due to more OBE practice attempts, the vibrations are felt less and less.

Some people say they never feel the vibrations or "rapid heartbeats". Perhaps they are born with very developed non-physical bodies?

My opinion on vibrations:  http://unlimitedboundaries.ca/2010/09/07/vibrations/
If you "hit" vibrations and try to project during them, THAT is when you're wasting your time.  They're nothing more than a signpost along the highway... your exit ramp is a bit further, but if you keep going in that direction, you'll get there.

QuoteAll I hit are vibrations, rarely any audio, and this would help a lot for me and others alike.
Experiences are going to range by the individual.  Experiences can also range by the experience... each time it could be different for you.

QuoteMy vibrations end all the time but it feels like I'm just lieing there i.e no trance feelings, dissociation.
That's because you're expecting these "vibrations" to be your end goal... you're defeating yourself.  Read my link above and it might give you another view point on them.

QuoteI can't say if I undergo sleep paralysis because you would have to move in order to be sure.
First off, you can't "induce" sleep paralysis... remove that from your thoughts now.  :)

QuoteThe "lead blanket" feeling to me seems like deep relaxation.
YES!!  That's actually what you want.  That means your body is starting to fall asleep... now, you might not "FALL ASLEEP" per se, but you will lose conscious awareness of your body.  THAT is the goal.

Yeah, forget about "reaching the vibes"... they're something to pass through, nothing more.

LOL  I've actually given up with that... was too much of a hassle...
I just put my name in my sig.  ;)

I guess all there is to ask is what sign means it's time to project?

Xanth, any exit technique you reccomend?

I do Phasing... there are no exit techniques involved.
As for "signs"... I don't think there really are any, just wait until you feel the time is right.

Exit techniques... I hear the Rope works well for people.  LoL

Just to add- there are lots of cues if you want to exit, but none of them are 'the' cue- I usually project when I see stuff, but it used to be I could project when I heard stuff, and that is no longer true.
The thing is, that this all changes, and symptoms change with you, so it can be anything- sounds, vibes (if you have them) how things look (and the fact you can see them with your eyes closed)- all of those can be cues, but really, the best bet is to know that your conscious awareness is somehow 'different'.  Often that is the best cue.

As to exit technique, learn many, switch around, experiment, if you're looking for an OBE to the RTZ.

I really don't agree with a lot of things that lucidology guy says, or the idea that in time vibrations stop altogether. Everyone's experiences are different when it comes to exiting and obe'ing in general. I've had vibrations since the very beginning of my first obes and even before I was able to project... 7 years later (since I've first experienced vibrations) I still have the vibrations. Not only that but I exit during them when they are at their strongest, and the exits are fairly automatic even when I don't try for the exit. I agree if you try to exit when they first kick in, it would be a waste of time. But when they are nearing their peak of strength, I can easily slip out. I really haven't came to a conclusion on them but I feel that there are two ideas that appeal to me, the first one is that they could be a form of friction you experience as your mind is letting it's attachment/link to your body go, or they are a sort of energetic resonance that the world and everything in it is generating and you happen to experience it as your mind starts it's traverse into the non-physical.

Hi T.L.
None of what any of us say applies to 100% of the people 100% of the time-and I hope everyone understands that.  But I think the statement "in time you stop experiencing vibrations"  is generally true.  It's not that the transition doesn't happen, it's that at some point you just don't notice them, it's so fast-or smooth, or whatever- which is why some of us look for different cues.
I felt vibes from 2005 all the way to around 2008, but I don't on the exit- I still feel them in the dreamstate, and sometimes upon returning from an unconscious projection (that is, I 'wake up' to them) but not on the exit, not anymore.
