Possible proof we have an OBE every time we sleep.

This morning I noticed something very interesting. I woke up twice in the early morning hours. Both times I noticed upon waking up I was a few inches to the side of my body. I immediately knew I was out of body because I couldn't hear my heater fan running. On both times upon re-entering my body, I then could hear the heater running. Both times I felt myself re-enter my physical body through the top of the head.

If I didn't notice the absent heater sound, I may not of realized I was out of body, since I was only a few inches away.

I have also noticed several times in the past two weeks that IMMEDIATELY upon falling asleep, I can feel an upward movement of my consciousness through the top of the head. Then I am asleep. But, actually I am probably out of my body, but not conscious of it.

There are many complicated OBE techniques that have step by step instructions. Maybe all we need to do is to feel our consciousness shift upon sleeping and waking to be successful at OBE's. Being more alert during the withdrawal and re-entry process during sleep may lead to frequent conscious OBE's without using any OBE techniques.

I would be interested if anyone else has noticed these findings also.

My take...

We don't *EVER* have "OBEs".  We never go "out" of body, because we're never "in" these bodies to begin with, we're simply focused towards them.

A "dream" is a "projection" where you're not consciously aware.

You can even go as far as to say that this physical life we're experiencing here is a "projection".  We're projecting our consciousness towards this reality to experience it... in the same manner that we project our consciousness towards other realities to experience those.

We're ALWAYS projecting.

I like that idea.

Do you think theoretically it is possible of being consciously aware of the natural sleep projection into the non-physical reality for the entire 8 hours of physical body sleep with no loss of consciousness?

Xanth, I think the same way of it.

Boom

I think the same way as Xanth.  I used to think our souls physically inhabited our body.. but I have been steered into the belief that we are focussed onto our bodies. I also think our bodies actually act as a strong magnet for our focus.  Sort of like an Electro Magnet. When we die, the magnet falls off and our focus of attention can drift to other levels as we perceive non physical stuff.  When we sleep the electro magnet is turned down a bit giving us the ability to focus away slightly.

The difference between dreaming and Astral Projection is being consciously aware of the experience and as such being able to control it and remember it better.

The technique the OP is using is being able to become aware again just at the moment of falling asleep. Tricky to do!  Normallyl we lose our conscious awareness before we fall asleep. Which is why we never remember falling asleep. We always remember laying in our bed trying to fall asleep. :)

Hi,
Assuming our conciousness stays with us in the physical while awake and the astral counterpart can go on a mission instigated by the subconscious. It puts into perspective remote viewing to a degree as well as other extra sensory phenomena.
Im sure something will come from this after some thought.
There's far more where the eye can't see.
Close your eyes and open your mind.

Actually, this sounds a lot like the "Mind alert, Body asleep" stage.

The ancient Sant Mat tradition teaches that all this OBE travel type thing is "within". It is spoken of as "Inner Experience".

I think the obvious reason it is called Out of Body Experience is because of the way many people project... it feels just like floating "out of the body".
Beware the fake "seeker" who finds Truth to be abusive.

I found an online resource which resembles what I had happen to me. Look for "Technique for Transition: Out of Darkness into Light" towards the middle of the page for the technique. They say it is a technique to help preserve consciousness upon dying. They said it should be performed every night to gain mastery.

I would think it would also be beneficial to reverse the process upon coming out of sleep in the morning (without moving) to help retain memory of the projection experiences.
