Hi,
I was wondering if someone could please clarify, what is the difference between mediatation and chakara meditation?
How do you do it? (Chakara meditation that is)
Thanks

It's all the same thing.  Seperating and labling parts of it just forces limitations upon it.

Chakra's aren't something you just turn on and off like a light switch.  And what is a Chakra?  There are 7 major ones classically, but 12 Shamballically.  They also have a front and back, and even spin.  Even have layers.

When you meditate, simply BE.  Don't worry so much about doing something 'right', enjoy the moment.
There is a physical limitation upon how much light a human body can sustain. Interestingly, there is no limit on how much light a human vessel can generate. When fully enlightened you must instill your light in order to maintain its wisdom.

Some people... mostly intellectuals... stick their noses up at Kundalini Yoga.  They figure they can think their way... or NOT think their way through anything.

The premise of Kundalini Yoga is that the differenct Chakras, if opened, can provide benefits, which justifies the attention put forward into opening and meditating upon them.

A good sequence to follow is to meditate upon the Brow Chakra for a couple of weeks.  Two exercises can be used.  Either raise up the eyebrows like you are extremely tired and you want to wake yourself up by exaggerating the effort to keep your eyes open.  Or you can furrow the brows as though angry or in serious doubt.  Or you can simply keep the attention between the brows.

If, after a few weeks, this meditation becomes automatic and you sort of feel something there all the time, or if you get a headache, then it is time to do the Base Chakra Meditation.  Here, you should get a very cold, very sweet drink and with each swallow, feel that the Energy is going all the way to your tailbone. Reach back and touch the tailbone -- know that is your target.  The Energy will not feel as strong there, but work on it.  This is your Safety and Security.  If you can focus your Energy there, then if it is ever causing you harm, you have a way you can stop it.

When you are sure you can hit the Base Chakra each and every time, then you can try the Crown Chakra.  Find the swivel point in your head that is at the very top of the spine.  There is a very small pea size gland there that is very difficult to locate in meditation.  It is like unpealing an onion.  When you finally locate it, focus the energy there.   The energy will gather, and from there you can bring it up out of the top of the back of your head -- where many traditions knot their hair.

Once you have raised your Energy out of your Crown Chakra your sense of Energy becomes much more clear -- your body is not so opague to your sensibilities anymore.

All of these meditations and initiations are so much easier if you are helped along by more advanced initiates who already have their Chakras opened.  Also, when in a group of people with open Chakras, your own Chakras will pick up on it and resonate.  That is why people shell out a lot of money sometimes to visit very advanced Gurus.  There is a benefit in being in their proximity.  'Darshan' they call it.

Has tachyon-therapy influence uppon chakras?

Recently I heard that one of most accomplished Kundalini Gurus has passed on.  Yogi Bhajan (   http://www.3ho.org/  )

His was a very traditional Kundalini Yoga that relied upon breathing exercises and yoga exercises and postures to raise the Kundalini.  He so popularized Kundalini Yoga that, by now, almost every Yoga Teacher in the World knows and teaches the basic exercises for raising the Kundalini.

But there are shortcut Systems out there.  Some Gurus can raise the Kundalini by touch.  One Guru I knew could raise the Kundalini simply by looking you in the eyes for a minute.

Tai Chi does some of the same breathing, but focuses on the more vital chakras.  It is part and parcel of the Chinese Cultures fixation on longevity and sexlife.  If an exercise or meditation won't prolong their life or give them a hardon, they wonder why they are wasting their time with it.  But the Chi is the same energy as the Kundalini, and there is no reason why a Westerner, learning Tai Chi, could not elaborate and expand on what he is taught to make higher use of the Chi.

While there is no "real proof" of Kundalini , I do believe one should proceed with caution.  I myself was recently researching Kundalini and thought it important to pass on a word of warning that I have gained from my own research.

If you do a search in Google for "dangers Kundalini energy"  you will find many have claimed to have bad experiences.

The real dangers lie in forcing the Chakras open prematurely and in the incorrect sequence.

The so called hazards of kundalini often occur when the participant is not well grounded. For instance if you open your chakras prematurely, there may be bad side effects if you are able to "awaken the kundalini.

An ungrounded participant is one who may try to force the kundalini to awaken , but they themselves do not practice a harmonic lifestyle and are truly unprepared for the energy that will be released.

Kundalini is thought to be the "life energy" or "force" of all living things that is at the base of the spine.  The belief and practice is grounded in Yogic traditions and in the Hindu religion, Kundalini is a goddess of energy.  Also you can research "Kundalini Yoga" for more info.

"An individual named Gopi Krishna awakened his kundalini by doing unguided meditation on his crown chakra. His life after awakening was both blessed by ecstatic bliss and tormented by physical and mental discomfort. Eventually his experience stabilized. He wrote down his experiences in a recently re-released autobiography entitled ``Living with Kundalini.'' Gopi Krishna's autobiography appears to be an honest representation of his experiences but it is only one extreme datapoint in the panorama of experience on kundalini yoga.  " excerpted from:

Hi I just checked out the 3HO site that was being referred to by Leo Volont
and it was very interesting. However, the organisations definition of the name/term kundalini was explained as the "curl of the lock of the hair of the beloved". This is interesting because I always thought it was interpreted as:"Serpent Power".
Kundali in Hindi is Serpent.
Correct me if I am wrong.

I was puzzled by the descrepancy myself.  I suppose it is a cultural rivalry between Sikh and Hindu.  But for myself I would rather be attempting to manipulate a 'Serpent Power' then a 'Pubic Hair Power'... or am I just being fussy?

No Guts, No Glory!

I know guys who got killed motorcycle racing.

Sony Bono died skiing into a tree.

I've read Gopi Krishna's book... I'm old enough where I remember the first edition.  Ask him if, knowing then what he knows now, whether he would have risked NOT having the FULL OPENING of the Kundalini by having been scrupulously cautious instead of courageously adventurous.  Read his book and do a Risk vs Benefit analysis.

Besides, we all end up dead anyway, don't we?

Shove the sissies out of your way and march forward like men!

kundalini, isn't it immortal?
