Rings of colored light

Similarly, what I've experienced a few times lately is an oval shaped color of light. The color is goldish and has appeared during the astral phasing work I've been doing. It seems to move outward, then reappear, then move outward again a number of times.

This all happens at the stage (or Focus level) where I'm started to have swirling colors and patterns come my way. Lately, some distinct images and at times some random noises as well. However, I've learned these are typical of certain focus levels of astral phasing. Perhaps you were in more of a phasing mode at the time and that's why I mention this.

I was very excited to see this topic as I experience this too. During meditation or trance, not all the time though, it starts as a cloud of yellowish light. It mingles and dances around my screen, like a big cloud of yellow light filled my screen as if someone was smoking in a room and filled it with smoke, but the smoke is yellow. Then it forms into a ring, and closes up to a sphere in the center of my screen. Then another ring closes in from beyond my screen (Internal Field of Vision) and closes up into a sphere, and this happens over and over again.

I find that this happens during periods in which I practice often, and to me it stands for good development, and strenght in my third eye. When it gets really good, when I practice strongly for several days on end, the ring and circle get more and more defined, until the rings become almost material they are so clear. And at first it starts as fuzzy wide rings and spheres that are fuzzy and oddly shaped, and it turns to thinner, perfectly circular rings and a perfectly shaped sphere when they close in the center. The farthest I've gotten has been a quick succession of rings closing from outside my screen, so fast that about 5 or so rings would be in my screen at any given time, all closing quickly into the sphere in the center of my screen.

I have experienced that several times in the past.It was during "tunnel" type of projections.I was speeding through it very fast, through rings of coloured light.I can't remember much more than that.
sometimes (many times actually) I have seen rings of coloured light form.very similar in fact to the description that sweet_celestial_sounds gave.I've never got around to practicing and developing that though.It just happens,and I say "hmm,thats interesting".I've never really known what they were about though.third eye activity makes sense.I'll see what I can do with that!

I also experience this sometimes. It seems to happen as i fall deeper into whatever state that is. A blusih ring closing together into a sphere in the midlle....and it happens the other way to, while coming back to ordinary state it is reversed. It is very beautiful to watch.

I also recall that it sometimes feels like i go through a tunnel on the top of my head as i leave the body, often accompanied by a roaring sound that often scares me awake. This roaring sound can be heard and felt daytime as a humming or background sound in da head. Some people would surely call it tinnitus but i feel it is the doorway to the astral or whatever dimensions are subtler than the physical. There is a Yoga called Nada Yoga. Yoga means union and nada sound. So by listening/puttting attention to this sound it grows in intensity and the world it originates from is unveiled to the conscioussness.

It is very interesting that you experience that difference in direction between going into trance and coming out of it relax. Interesting.

Last night it happened again but was so much more...
I thought I was going to go to sleep, so I opened my eyes, unfocused them, and then focused on my heart..
Almost immediately it was pounding and the ringing was getting loud.
I starting seeing the swirling of color, (there were white streaks also) in the middle of my vision, but around that I could see my room and it was getting larger and real clear.  I was aware when paralysis kicked in to, and tried to split, but the hubby started to snore and messed me all up. []

I was really surprised that I did this with my eyes open.! I know at one point I was looking thru my Astral eyes, because I would blink, but wouldn't blink..lol..does that make sense?

Has anyone else ever done it with your eyes open?

I have had out of body experiences before, but I am no expert.  However, yesterday while in trance I saw something which I typically have not seen.

It was a bright sunny day, and I was laying in bed meditating.  After a while, I started to see a shimmering emerald color ring of light.  The ring started off small, and then got bigger.  After it disappeared, more came in faster succession.  I was eventually brought out of my trance by a phone ringing.

Has anyone ever had this sensation before?  Any idea where I was in the obe experience as I had never experienced this before.  Most of my OBEs are at night when I interrupt my sleep.
