using the sbagen program

I'm having problems trying to get the sbagen program to produce a sound file which slowly fades in and out, no matter what settings I try I can only get one which starts and stops abruptly, which I find is useless in practise as it tends to make me jump inbetween the tracks.

The file I'm trying, seq.sbg, contains the following:

-F 1000 -m river2.ogg
f03: 59+1.2/10 110+1.3/10 288+3.7/10

NOW <> f03

and the command line says:

sbagen -Wo seq.wav -E seq.sbg

Has anyone got this program to produce a wave file which slowly fades in and out or, alternatively, does anyone know of an editor program which you can download to apply a fade effect to a wave file?

Maybe try with ' -> ' at the end of each line (except the last one)...

After much fiddling with this program I found that it looks like the fading effect doesn't work when you mix in the river sounds file, it fades in and out ok if you only generate the binaural beats and don't bother mixing in one of the sound files.

I therefore eventually settled on creating lots of definition lines which explicitely fade the sounds in gradually, like the following:

The main part of the definition then uses each one in sequence for one second each, followed by the main f03 sound running for 3 minutes.  This resulted in the desired effect.

After trying out the end product wave files, going from focus 3 up to focus 27, I found that the focus levels 3 up to 21 felt similar to the ones I was used to from the Gateway cds, so it seems to work.  Focuses 22 through 26 felt like they were gradually taking me up into some more mysterious state of consciousness and focus 27 felt quite strange.

Anyway, you could also mix the 2 after, with another audio program...
I "like" to listen to it raw...  and don't like the white/pink noise option...

Hi Naugal

I'm new to this particular piece of software and so have been mostly experimenting so far, I found the river sound using river2.ogg seemed to help me relax, I've also tried generated a seqeuence mixing in pink noise and changing the magnitudes on the binaular beats so that they total 50 for each focus level to try to make one focus level have the same overall volume level as every other one, not had time to test the result of this yet.

Tried the tape 1 test sequence for delta/thete but didn't get much of an experience with this.

I've edited the configuration files listed above as I found that it was best to have each binaural beat set to amplitude 10, with the mix or pink amplitude set to bring the overall total volume up to 100.  I've been finding the pink noise version the best.  I found that there were too many focus levels all the way up to 27 so I made the intermediate ones from 22 to 26 into a single sliding sequence, which makes it easier to keep track of where you are.

These versions produce smoother transitions and I'm not yet sure whether it's better to have the pink noise at a constant volume throughout or to have the binaural beats at a constant volume.

I find that the focus states work the same for me using these programs as with the Gateway exercises, and I've left out the focus 15 state as I find it's a separate journey in itself, rather than being part of the expansion up to 27.  I'm using these sound tracks by storing them on a hi-md disk using the 64k bitrate and have found that this works well, I also have tried some gateway exercises in this format and they seem to work as well as the original cds.
