I believe they will only respond once you're ready to meet with them.

We definetly have help, and I mean that in every sense of the word.  One thing any enlightened person will tell you is that there are definetly other beings that love us and desire that we continue on the path of self-discovery and enlightenment.  

Do will all have spirit guides?  Yes.  Do we all see them, are they all the same?  These questions have many different answers and are as varied as our individual tastes and desires.  

I also believe what Pete (?I think it was him) who said that he believes that before we came to earth and were incarnated in these physcial shells, we chose how we would be helped.  We all have free agency, and that is KEY to our eternal progression, but how we are helped and by whom is something I don't know.  One thing is for sure, they exist and they love us and that's surely comforting to know.
