Spontaneous negative intrusive thoughts during astral projection?

PHYSICAL LIFE:
I'll hold a pair of binoculars and I don't want to drop them. Yet I have that compulsive thought to drop them.
I'll hang out with someone and I'm not angry at all. In fact they're awesome. Yet an intrusive compulsive thought urges me to hit them.

ASTRAL LIFE:
So in the astral, they say your thoughts have even more effect. What happens if I happen to think "I want a demon to possess me" even though that ain't at all what I want? Or if I happen to think of a knife flying my way then it happens?

Do I make sense anyone? I've never AP'ed before.

If this is accurate you have a lot of unresolved issues.  It is best to deal with those issues and get to what's behind these compulsions, before you try to get into esoteric stuff.

If it isn't really what you want, you won't think it.  If you think it you will create a 'demon' that isn't really one, a thoughtform, and you will act out whatever your issues are, first hand.  In other words, whatever you create is a thoughtform, not an entity in and of itself.  Your subconscious will let you act out whatever the deal is, one way or the other.  And yes, it can be very unpleasant.  Which is why you should go back to the #1 answer.

Hey many thanks again for your post. I still love to read about this topic. Yeah I plan to work on this stuff before AP'ing. Do you think remote viewing would make a good alternative for now?

It's not an alternative it's just another tool to get you to where you want to go. RV focuses only on 4th density travel [Real Time Zone] and not on the Astral Plane. Now a days I spend all of my time training in the 4th density level but most people enjoy the astral.

Personally, I wouldn't make too much of your compulsive feelings.  They sound very much like the urge to jump off a high place like bridge or dam - you don't really want to, but something in yourself feels the impulse.  If anything I'd underplay such impulses, particularly if you are a young person.  I had such feelings back then, but now they are rare.  The only time I want to clock somebody is when they are really ticking me off :-D

I do agree though that you have to calm your mind down to project well.  Meditation and energy work is awesome for this.  I try to avoid any practice that has a particular agenda - an agreed on set of beliefs - and just go for the exploration of my being via any good technique.  Simple sitting meditation practiced everyday for even a few weeks will yield amazing results if you can get yourself to really do it.  That simple act can teach you about what is good and not good for your being - what foods feel good to you, negative feelings you may have, what parts of your body have "issues", etc.  Treat it like a real adventure and enjoy it.  Go lightly.  That's what I'd advise.

These kinds of intrusive and compulsive thought processes can be incredibly frustrating - I've had problems with this myself.  The fear of losing control and doing harm paradoxically causes the compulsion to actually lose control -  I think it's probably related to OCD. However, lucid dreaming could provide a kind of therapy for this disorder in that it allows you to drop the binoculars or punch someone without the consequences that would arise in the physical from such actions. Allowing yourself to repeatedly act on those compulsive thoughts (in dreams) may eventually cause them to subside, once the subconscious mind begins to realise that no real harm is done. Just my theory...
Oh, and I agree that meditation could help too.

Thanks guys. I did grow up with a rage addicted narcissistic mom. Punishment was swift and severe for any perceived (or real) wrongdoing. Perhaps that has something to do with it.

Well I'm glad you are working on that.  As for RVing, yes, I'd think it's safer, but it may take you to that place to where you're ready to jump off, instead of just observing.  So keep working on your life issues.
