Hey Dark_Phoenix,
Your suggestions and input are greatly appreciated!  I will continue to try yours and everybody's suggestions.  When I wake myself up physically and get up, I really do get up.  I feel like a dump truck ran me over, but i'm up.  I feel like my astral body is tied down to my physical body with chains!

One thing is for sure, all your ideas are helping me build an arsenal of knowledge and techniques, to try every night.  Hopefully I will have a break-through.  (No pun intended)

Dark_Phoenix

ok your going to say " send him away to a insane isalym" or some stuff like that when i'm done posting. because what i'm about to say is constructed towards anime , a anime show called dbz. but when the people power up they flex thier muscles and thats what i'm going to talk about. when you feel paralysis and you can't move try making a muscle and 'break' the chains with your muscles and get up that way.

Dragen

If I do that, I get up physically.  Somehow i'm not transferring to my astral body.  [V]

Graupel

I think our chakras are producing a differnet frequency of energy or something.  Here's something interested I didn't mention before:

Whenever I wear a watch, it always slows down and eventually stops because of something to do with my bio-electrical energy.

And in a previous post, I mentioned that whenever I go into a networking closet of routers, swithces, hubs, and other networking equipment along with the jumbled mess of hundreds of "live" flowing CAT-5 wires. my blood just explodes and starts to swell underneath the skin and pool.

Dragen

Jeez Graupel, I work in I.S. and don't have that problem.  That would just end my job (and probably my life, the way you describe it) in a heartbeat.  lol

Although the strangest thing happened to me today, when I went to lunch with a co-worker and we walked in to Mcdonalds.  There was a Christmas tree setup with a few ornaments on it, across the resteraunt, and as soon as I pointed at the tree and said "Hey look.." BAM, an ornament flew off the Christmas tree!  My co-worker looked at me and said, "Well, how in the hell did you do that?"

So was it just a coincidence?  Or did I really knock it off the tree? [;)]

Graupel

I bet you knocked it off :)

I believe telekensis is just a form of transferring energy from the chakras into an exterior object in the physical plane.

Dragen

I like to think I knocked it off!  But who knows.. it's just a funny little story.  [:)]

I am still having problems with projection.  I'm not sure what i'm going to do.  I can get in to a paralysis mode pretty easily.. but I may not be as deep as originally suspected.  But I can't imagine going any deeper than I have been..

I think right about now, the only thing left for me to do is keep practicing and hope things work.  The ROPE technique... well, it's horrible.  I can't do it.  I can do the clairvoyant visualization that most people say is hard, but I can't do something "simple" like pretending to climb a rope?  I must be retarded or something..

For the most part, I get pretty crazy feelings of swinging back and forth.. like i'm floating kind of, and then I sway back and forth.  This is a great feeling.. kind of like i'm on a ride!  But I don't go much past this.. maybe I need to let this happen more and more..

Nagual

Dragen, from all your posts, I get a feeling of "impatience"...  While your body is fully relaxed; how relaxed is your mind...?
quote:
I only get 5-10 seconds of "good" visualization.

I am afraid that 5-10 seconds is not a lot.  Maybe you could try to work on some concentration exercises...
How much energy raising do you do before trying to AP?
Did you try the imaginary walk exercise I told you about?
If electricity comes from electrons, does morality come from morons?

Dragen

Hey Nagual,
My mind is pretty relaxed, no thoughts.  But I can't help wonder if i'm "too aware".  I think occasionally I got impatient, but I keep on trying.  I think I just want to see some results.

I have tried energy raising quite a bit.  But i'm not sure if it's working, or if i'm doing it right.  Am I supposed to visualize hands.. or simply visualize the energy instead.

I did try the imaginery walk.  Actually this seems pretty easy for me.  I can walk around my house, float around on the roof.. and I do it better than trying the ROPE technique.  Strange huh?

Lately, I have been experimenting with this paralysis state.. trying to use Robert Monroe's techniques of just watching hypnagogic images and focusing on nothing.  I think my mind is real sensitive to the physical world.. if I think, hear, feel, smell, or see anything "physical".. it keeps me tied down.

Nagual

Personaly, I don't really imagine hands (very poor visualization); I just imagine "something" going up (no particular shape)... and it makes a sensation appear in my legs/body...

Maybe you could try to shift your consciousness/awarness.  Imagine that you are in your energy body, floating a few feet above your physical body.  Don't visualize this other body; be in it.  If you could open your eyes, you should be able to see the ceiling from a few inches...  If you are in it; you should feel your physical body below.

Or check the http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=44 forum for more technics...

Dragen

Hey Nagual!
Thanks for the information and advice.  I read anything and everything pertaining to metaphysics.  I'm a big knowledge sponge.  But it's enjoyable for me, even though I haven't experienced it first hand (yet) I like learning about it the best I can.

I ordered Robert Bruce's books the other day; Astral Dynamics and Psychic Defense.  I can't wait until they get here.

But for the most part, I am pretty sure i'm in paralysis, because I can't move unless I force my fingers to move.  A lot of times, I get sensations in my hands.. for example.. my physical hands are resting with palms down and suddenly I can't feel them anymore.  Instead, I feel like my palms are turned "upward" or in a position I know they aren't in.  Strange eh?

You would think, being in this state would be easy to use to your advantage.  But I cannot for the life of me (again, no puns intended), get out.  Is there such a thing as being "too aware"?  I don't feel the slightest bit tired (until I snap out of it and start moving around physically) and I don't think about anything.

For the most part, imagining myself floating up near the ceiling can be pretty easy.  Sometimes I get pretty interesting results from this.. but not enough to get out.  I guess the only thing I can do is keep trying.  I have my whole life ahead of me.. what's the rush?  If I keep working at it.. I will get there!

Dark_Phoenix

thats more like it !!!

if you think that i bet you will have better luck but you gotta believe 100% and not like "hey i believe" and do the opposite of what your telling your self. you know...

KDC

I can't give you any advice, sorry.  I'm just posting this to say that the same thing allways happens to me, but instead of feeling another me I feel the presence of another thing.
Thanks for posting your thread, the reply have been interesting to read.  It's also nice to know I'm not the only one who has paralysis for hours at a time.

Dragen

Hey, it's been educational for me too!  I am doing better, and it appears I get more and more relaxed each session.  Just last night I had a spontaneous (well almost) OBE.  I blacked out during exit.  Which probably means I fell asleep.

Funny, I was so far out of it, I didn't even think to check paralysis.  I'm assuming I was.. I was more intriqued with the vibes than anything else.  That sure felt cool!

Now if I can do this from the meditative paralysis state, i'll be good to go!  More practice practice.

Hey gang,

I've had similar problems as well. Like Dragen I've found it very easy to see myself from say..the other side of the room but I still get this feeling like I'm stuck. In fact, most of my experiences have been almost identical to the ones that Dragen has discribed.

Additionally, I'm curious as to what it's suppossed to feel like? What kind of sensations occur once your out of body. I've often had situations where I felt like I was out of body but I was still very aware of my physical bodies surroundings. Even if I was some place else entirely (mentally), I would still hear if say, some walked into the room that I was in. Is that normal or what? Am I actually getting out of body or am I just floating around in la, la land?

Any help would be appreicated.

thanks

Dragen

Hey psychicphish!
Welcome to the forums!  Usually, a full projection is described as being as realistic as your waking life, even more so.  It sounds like you are Remote Viewing?  By the way you described everything, it seems as if you are drawing pictures, 3D space in your mind, which is a clairvoyant Remote Viewing ability.  Or possibly Astral Sight.

I haven't entered paralysis for a while now.  I'm not sure if it's absolutely necessary.  I have been reading quite a bit, and have changed my course of training.  I posted a thread over here on overcoming these paralysis issues, and trying other techniques to induce OBE.

Check it out here:

Hopefull you will find it useful!  I know how frustrating all of this can be, but just relax and go for the ride.  You will surely get there!

Good luck!

Believe it or not, it feels almost EXACTLY as you do right now, in your waking physical life.  The main difference, though, is that you're consciously aware that you're having an out of body experience, and it takes an incredible amount of focus and control to maintain the experience.

Like Dragen said, you may have been having a little remote viewing thing going on.  Put it this way.  When you do have an OBE, there will be little doubt in your mind about what is happening.  It's THAT profound.

Some people may have vague memories of having one, but when you experience a full blown OBE, there is no question left in your mind that you have achieved your goal.

From the experience you described above, it doesn't sound like you "projected yourself" anywhere.  You simply felt sensations.  It's almost as if you were at a circus watching the tightrope act.  While watching the man suspended hundreds of feet in the air, you may feel some dizziness yourself, or a vertigo effect.  This doesn't mean you are actually walking the tightrope.

On the other hand, when you finally DO find yourself walking the tightrope on your own, you KNOW that you KNOW that you KNOW that you're doing it....and it takes a lot of focus and control to maintain the experience.  OBE's are kinda like that.  [:D]

I get that a lot, but usually when I first lie down and am not even close to falling asleep, or paralysis.

When you're paralyzed try imagining a friend and then keep asking them to pull you out.

Whenever a dream I'm in abruptly ends I try my hardest not to move and just remember the very last part of the dream and call to the person who was nearest to me to pull me out of my body...

It almost always works, and is a lot easier than reconstructing the dream scene and trying to enter it on your own..

So, that may or may not work for you if you can get a version of someone to manifest in that blackness and help you out (note, you don't have to see them at all)

wow, that was fast!!

I seriously didn't expect a reply so soon. Thanks for the advice, I'll keep you posted as things progress. I'm really excited to see how things go.

thanks

Hi everyone!
I'm a little out of it, so if this post seems incoherent, just say "Hey Dragen, you're out of it."  But I just got out of a LONG meditative session, trying to Astral Project.

I spent 2 full hours in paralysis.  My whole body was numb, heavy, and it felt huge.  Couldn't really move.  This was fine for a while, but I couldn't for the life of me pull myself out.  The ROPE technique is NOT working for me... I got some vibrations, tingling sensations, and feelings of vertigo.

And will somebody please tell me why I felt pain in my arms?  I don't know what this was, or why I was feeling it.. but it felt painful.  And at times, it felt like there were 2 of me... briefly.. but I couldn't get out.  I visualized myself floating near the ceiling with my nose 1 inch away from it.. I felt "pulling" but it still wouldn't release.  I must be tied down with spiritual chains for crying out loud!  [;)]

Anyway, I was able to get out of paralysis physically.. it took one hell of an effort to get up.  When I moved my physical arm, it felt like it was "dislocated" from another arm that was laying their.  It was strange.  After like fighting like crazy to sit up, I stood up and realized how solid I was.  And here I sit.

My mind was fully awake for 2 hours while my body slept.. the strangest feeling is being so incredibly tired physically, but being awake during the whole thing consciously.  I had a hard time just walking across the room!

What do you guys think about this?  What am I doing wrong?  I really did relax.. I attempted ROPE and other techniques many times.. if it didn't work, I would relax my mind, and then try again.  But it still didn't yield results.

Anyway, I don't want this thread to get too long.  Very strange and new experience indeed.  Perhaps I shouldn't wake myself up and get up that fast in the future.  How close do you think I was?  Any tips?

Thanks everybody!
