hmmm..... why dont you start earlier, that way you can spend more time on it? or use audio aids.

one thing i've learned is that good things happen slowly. Why not try to stop doing things quicker and just go witht he flow? or try some other tech. or just lay there and dont do anything at all. that works sometimes.

LOL,

Wow you guys are helpfull.  Well I don't know anything about this falling technique, but why don't you try flying instead?  I would have to think that falling is a generally unpleasant and unsettling experience it might upset you, so that you won't relax.  Try flying like superman through the sky, into the atmosphere, and into the heavens.  Best of luck.

Be well,

Try not caring whether you're doing it right or not. If you notice yourself tensing, then work on not tensing. The whole thing is MENTAL, just feel yourself as falling without tensing.

I believe that a lot of people tense up because it is only natural to either induce a falling feeling by tensing up while you're eyes are closed, or because most people tense up when they feel that falling sensation.

The whole point of the falling is to trick the feeling of VERTIGO, which can also be gained by feeling yourself as flying. Try to capture that feeling as a whole-body awareness action.

Best of luck,

No amount of rigorous training, sitting and doing nothing, and clearing one's mind can help a man who hasn't overcome his doubts.

The falling technique hasn't given me good results in the past.  I've always imagined an endless hole that I am falling down.  However I imagine the walls are lighted rock or crystal or something so that you can see yourself falling, and also it's more pleasent then just a pitch black hole.  By imagining the whole as endless you won't tense up expecting to crash into the ground.  So just completely relax and enjoy the fall knowing that you won't hit anything!

well the falling technique is good for me.  just last night if u check my other post i got into a trance by feeling i was falling through a galaxy.  if you can see anything at all through your third eye, then use it cause i could see this purply color through my third eye and i used that as scenery for a galaxy so it was so easy to visualise thus resulting in my trance

In RB's Astral Dynamics, he described the use of a mental falling sensation to trick the subconscious into putting the physical body into trance more quickly.  The problem that I am having though is exerting too much mental focus on the falling sensation and my physical body tenses up or the natural discomfort of neck pain (as in my previous post) becomes apparent.

What are some of your favorite mental falling techniques?  I think so far the easiest one for me is the feather, since it requires no visualization or intense focus.  The problem is.. whenever I try to imagine myself descending slowly my neck tenses up or I overexert it on my physical body and I get nowhere.  I lay in bed for over an hour with no success in this regard.  What are some things I can try to improve my chances of entering trance more quickly with the mental falling exercise?
