I read this story and it made me wonder can negative entities really have influence within our lives. A false awakening is also described in this story. http://paranormal.about.com/od/shadowpeople/a/tales_12_02_21t.htm
Tell me what you guys think!
So close but so far to projecting. It'll come one day, i'll just have to wait.

The "hooded man" shadow figure, whatever you like to call it is like a "gatekeeper' of sorts. When you hear about a person having an OBE for the first time, he is usually the first thing they see. People report a shadowy figure standing at the end of their bed or standing at their bedroom door. I believe this is your first "test". You are brought to a brand new world of discovery only if you can bypass this first "fear scenario".  :-)

That sounds completely logical, but i'm guessing hitting the gatekeeper isn't a good impression.
Question, is the gatekeeper evil, good, or neither?

I am not sure, but i think its neither, its just there to test you, see how you react or something... actually he scared the excrement out of me when i first when out, which by the way was an unvoluntary exit, it just hapened, and i look to my left, and i see this black shadow.. and BAMM!! i go back to the safesty of my body haha, but in reality i never felt any evil coming from that silluete, it was just there, welcoming me.. lol, i didnt pass the test

LOL, I bet you'll do better next time! Next time you'll be prepared to exit and maybe you could ask it a few questions.

Backup, I never got a scary hood dude. I am missin out. I want a refund.  :-P

Nah, nothing scary can come of OBEs/projections. It's a catch 22, you think of it, and it will manifest. Hence why nightmares get scarier and scarier.

You got a 'mortal' brain. Trust me, a lot of scary booyakacha can come outta that thing, but nothing is going to hurt you. Think of it in the case of phantom limbs, Your brain creates the pain. It is impossible for something to cause pain unless you let it.

Not the strongest end argument, but you get the idea.

I don't believe in negative entities, and guess what - THAT'S WHY they never bothered me :)

The first time I had an OOBE was accidental and i didn't know what was going on. I saw an entity on the edge of my bed. He was a little skinny man with a fedora. He had a pointy nose and pointy chin. He was smiling really big, like a crescent moon shape. When I first saw him. I didn't feel any evil from him. I just felt like something was there and I got really freaked out and scrambled to wake up. I saw him another time after that. Every time I saw him and noticed me and looked surprised and ran out of the room really fast and sped up motion. After that I did lots of research about it. Now I'm not so nervous and I haven't seen him again. I am actually excited when I feel the vibrations happening. Every time I go to bed I think of white light to protect me and I haven't seen anything like that again.

If I do see him again. I'll ask him what his name is and why he is in my room.

But I have been having a lot of false awakenings. I know this might be silly. But I think I'm going in a dream in a dream every time I have an OOBE, because after the vibrations my body still feels awake and it feels so real, I try to sleep again and I slip into a dream like state and it feels like I'm having an OOBE but also like a lucid dream. Hard to explain.

I got to teach myself to realize that after the vibrations, that I am in OOBE and I should try to float up instead of keeping my eyes close and try to move in that lucid dream like state.

That was a realistic story but according to me their are nothing like negative entities in this world. It's just our perception of our vision and whenever you"ll think any negative entities is near you or behind that makes a mark in your mind and then constantly you"ll be thinking of those imaginary characters. Even if your heart says that nothing bothers but your mind speaks some different story.

I've had an encounter with a "shadow" being, it grabbed me and wouldn't let go.  Do not, under any circumstances excite your fears or shallow desires to these forms of your lesser self.  Learn to remedy this fear with love.  It is almost always a part of your subconscious fear.

My only conscious/remembered encounter with a "shadow being" happened about 5 years ago.  I was suddenly "awoken" in the OBE state and found myself looking down at my body sleeping while a shadow being was on top of my physical body! It kind of looked like the scene in A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) when Nancy walks to find Freddy strangling her mother in bed.   I didn't feel fearful or concerned as I observed from above.  I simply watched as I floated above. If my memory serves me right, I did wake up shortly afterwards feeling a bit drained.   Could it be possible that he stole some energy?
