Thank you very much, I will give it more time now, will even do an attempt tonight!!

One point that RB makes somewhere is that most people start using the rope technique too early in the sequence of steps that lead to projection.

Before starting and focusing on the rope technique to the exclusion of all else, you need to be in a stable trance. (Not too deep, not too light.)

On this particular point I don't speak from personal experience.

All the best,

Also, I vaguely recall that one should probably stop after 15 minutes of rope technique if it doesn't lead to projection. Something about most of your energy is used up by this time and you might as well abandon the attempt?

Hmm, a quick page through AD doesn't turn up anything. Someone want to back me up on this?

Also, remember that the rope technique is based on solid underlying principles. (Externalization of awareness, etc.) Rope is a great tool, a great ritual, but it's not the only way. As you use it, observe what you're experiencing in a detached way and don't be afraid to "reach out" and experiment too sometimes.

The first few times I tried all the techniques I easily spent an hour doing them.It seems too easy to get stuck- body relaxed and vibrating, heart thumping, but just not able too go the final step. Maybe it would be good to give up after a set time but I have not seen it yet.

In the world in general and in this nation
May not even the names disease, famine, war, and suffering be heard.
May virtuous qualities, merit, and prosperity greatly increase
And may continuous good fortune and subline well-being perfectly arise.

about 30 seconds after i  started rope the other night  the vibrations occured,  funny,  as  all the times i have tried rope  it has induced no sensations what-so-ever.   Why it worked on this night i dont know because my awareness hands are pathetic and ive never had any luck with rope.

Hi,
my experiences with projections have been with spontaneous ones.
I have followed R Bruces book and the guidelines that he mentions.
However, I can be quiet impatient and would like to know how much time is needed.
For a newbie, how long must you use the rope technique before it triggers a projection? An average of course, and depending on whetheror not u do NEW before.
I felt that the book lacked too much info on this - what to expect and the amount of work on the projection phase, each try.
I am really greatful for your inputs.
