vibrations

I am new here and would appreciate any help I may receive.  I am having difficulty understanding the difference between the sensations of vibrations that signal the onset of obe vs. energy sensations felt after stimulating the primary and secondary energy centers? I have had what I believed to be two obe experiences, but there were not conscious obe. When I consciously try to project into a obe, I am not sure that I am getting to the vibration state and of yet have been unsuccessfull in my attempts to project. On a side note, does wearing a belly button ring affect projecting?
