A very easy OBE technique that needs some fine tuning

I tried this last night as well with some success. I had tried it some months ago, but had forgotten about it until coming back to the forum yesterday to look for some inspiration.

I'm not huge at visualization so I make it very simple and just imagine a ball containing my consciousness as existing maybe six inches or so in front of my forehead.

I did this at the end of meditating last night before bed. And also when laying down to sleep. Already when falling asleep I am having little jolts back into my body. Then throughout the night it seemed a seed was planted and either from sleep or the places in between sleep I kept up the visualization of the ball of consciousness outside my head. I don't have a lot of memory of exact occurrences, but I remember thinking it was a wild night. I felt a little like the technique is a very strong one, like a bucking bronco and that I need to strengthen myself and my awareness in order to harness its energy.

I had dreams repeating of a couple specific entities that seemed like guides.

Powerful yet simple technique.

feel your energy body in a position that is little bit above the head, below the feet, in front of the body, or behind the physical body. Pick one of these positions and hold full awareness in that position.

stupid question, so you mean basically imagine your energy body floating on top of you as you are falling asleep? :?

Todd isn't on this Forum anymore, so I'll answer this for you.

Yes, you can either mentally imagine/picture your body there or just put your focus there.

I just focus on a spot outside of my body. I don't necessarily need to see it.

Although if I do wish to visualize something there, it's normally going to be just a orb of light.

The other night I nearly succeeded to ap.  In a way I did succeed but it was not successful.  I went to bed to try to ap.  I did not have a sleep so I knew that it was harder to ap.  I thought I would try anyway.  I kept breathing in and out to get more and more relaxed.  The mistake I make is I concentrate on my breathing and nothing else.  I only realised recently that is where I go wrong.  I have to notice how my body is feeling not only in the mornings when I wake up but at other times as well.  When my body starts to feel different then I know I can do an ap technique.  My body was starting to feel different so I imagined that I was playing a game of tennis.  I was hitting the ball but I got hit in the face with a ball.  It did not hurt but I could feel the ball hitting my face.  Unfortunately that woke me up.  That is how it is for me.  I realise that it is probably different for you.

Hi all, I think I am achieving ap.   I did not go to bed as I want to go to sleep.   I always stop trying to ap when I am in bed.   I went into another room.  I laid down on a very thin mattress.  It is not comfortable.  If it is too comfortable it is too easy to fall asleep.  I was lying on my back for a little while.  I decided to lie on my side as it is more comfortable.  I knew I had to concentrate otherwise I will likely fall asleep.   My body was feeling different.   I got a bit afraid which is silly.  I should not have got afraid.  I have had lots of experiences and I hardly ever get afraid.   I was kicking my legs up and down as I was afraid.  I thought I have had enough of this.  I am going back to bed.   I did not realise that I was spiritually out of my body.   I thought I was physically out of my body.   I went back into my body.   If someone wants to do what I am doing, I would suggest it is a good idea to mediate before you practice ap for a while.  When meditating it seems to not make me tired or as tired.  I realise what works for me, may not work for you.  Just trying to help.   I feel really good.  I think I will be able to do it again.

I think you are correct. Meditation is not required to project but if someone has been trying for years and doesn't meditate, I have very little sympathy for them. Meditation is what allows us to recognize the different states of consciousness that we can have. That's why it is so helpful when you're just lying in bed trying to project and all the while, you're already there but can't recognize it. If that person was a mediator, they would recognize this.
