Title: Was this my first astral projection?
Post by: Dan4487 on January 27, 2014, 07:27:34
I was in a dream being chased by someone in a park. The fear overwhelmed me, and then I woke up suddenly. When I woke up, though, I didn't move. I thought back over the dream I just had and was kicking myself for not realizing it was a dream and not becoming lucid.

About 20 seconds later, the memory of that dream really started to become more vivid. Then the same scenery from the dream gradually appeared and I found myself in the park again. All of sudden I heard the sound of a very loud train moving off and felt warm tingling all over my body. I saw the same person again and faced him, because I knew there was nothing to be scared of. Then the person chasing me gave up and walked away. Then all of the scenery around me changed. The grass because greener and the birds started singing. I walked the streets having conversations with people saying how everything is just a dream. This is the first time ever that after attaining lucidity the dream didn't immediately end.

I just need some advice because I'm not sure if I just ended up in the same dream again or if it was an obe. Whatever it was, it could be a great new technique for me. Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated.

You re-created the dream through intent. This intent as strong and as determined as you were at that time is all it takes. You created a scene as I do and got a concious projection from it.
As you pulled out of the dream your body was in a perfect state for an exit. This is why an attempt after some sleep really helps many to be successful.
To stay just outside the dream but not physically awake, you only need to create a scene and join it. You did exactly that and if this was your first experience you did exceptionally well.
Another pointer is you faced your fear head on and the instant you did this the place changed to a far nicer one. You'd have noticed the feel of it strongly. This change has opened a lot more for you, by facing your fear you were shifted in frequency to a higher state. This is the direction you need to go in. Eventually you'll get all your questions answered and more.
In short you were scared, then took control and were given an experience where you were sent to a higher level of conciousness.
Congratulations are in order.

Thank you for the reply, Szaxx. Everything you said about facing my fears was 100% accurate. That dream actually taught me a lesson.

I would have said it was just a lucid dream, but the sound of the train engine and strong tingling was unmistakable. That's why I hope it was my first conscious astral projection, because it's something I've wanted to do for such a long time. There's so much to explore.

I only just found out that what I did was called a DEILD lucid dream method. This could be a great technique for me. All I have to do is not move or open my eyes in those seconds when I'm waking up and vividly remember the dream I was just having. I know if it doesn't work within 20 seconds I'll attempt another time. This won't cause me to have sleep deficit either.

I'm so happy and excited that I've finally made a breakthrough.

I'm glad you remembered what you did, that would have been really annoying if you did it and couldn't remember how. Lol
The general ambience when outside the dreamstate can have a particularly noticeable feel to it, did you notice any?
This occurs within 2 seconds of forced dream exit. (The waking yourself from a nightmare thing we have all done). It's controlling this exit SLOWLY where you need to put yourself. By learning to do this you have 'the platform to infinity' in your hands.
It's not easy as your awareness needs to be high or you'll miss it.
Any thought in this state will manifest with an amazing clarity.
You can ask for answers to any questions or go anywhere you wish.
Be sure to think precisely and add the expected feelings associated with the answer.
This is a very powerful state of mind to experience. Fear acting up here would scare you more than anything you have ever experienced. It's the gateway to the datastream of the multiverse. Anything goes and this includes the bad as well as the good.
It's a tool with a nuclear powerpack. Use it with care and exacting determination.
I can't stress enough the limitless creativity whilst in this state. I have created so much here for use if needs be later. I have no fear of anything, once you learn to access this and keep your apparent location open too, you can create anything you want in most cases.
I wanted a challenge and a way to do it without failing. 90+% of my NP experiences are retrievals. These I've been doing for many years. Before this I wanted to know things and this too was granted.
Go for it, get the keys and drive this mindstate.
Be good, and Pandora will be too.
