mine's ten seconds (pretty impressive, eh?), I did it a while ago on accident, but the whole thing was slightly... disturbing... for me, as I didn't know a thing about Astral Projection! [^]
Something like 5mns, but the notion of time is tricky while projecting...

It's kind of hard to say. Whenever I come back from an OBE, I try and GUESS how long it might have been in physical time.
But we never really know. I could have an extremely long OBE, and perhaps only a minute will pass on our physical watches. Or the opposite could happen. You just may roll out of your body, look around, and come back, only to see that 5 minutes went by.
To answer your question though, I would say my best OBE's have been my longest, and the longest one I had felt like it was a little over 30 minutes long. However, MOST of my OBE's are usually 5 minutes or less.
Jeff, I think it's a question of how fast you're able to get out.
As for me, this morning I was dreaming lucidly and decided to project. Heard the noise immediately, pulsing in volume, and was out just a few second later. Unfortunately I suffered from Plastic Bag* syndrome during the whole thing, and it was a bit unpleasant.
*Unable to get far away from body.
I think I was out for around a minute t'other day.

DOOOOOOOOOOHHH!! I guess that's what I get for reading the question too quickly!
Almost all of my projections happen from a sleeping state where my consciousness snaps into focus, and I'm aware of two things:
1) That I'm in my room on my bed
2) That I can OBE now if I wanted
So it's hard to say how fast it takes me to project, since I don't really lay down and project without some kind of break in consciousness.
However, I can tell you that when I'm in the mindset right before projecting (in the two stages above), I can separate from my body instantly. Rarely do I have problems anymore separating from my body, unless I feel real groggy.
I can project a small amount (everything is vague, transparent, blurry, etc) immediately. If I try longer it becomes more clear. It can take anywhere from 1-20 ninutes to have more input from astral than physical, but most times I dont get that far.
How long could Robert Bruce AP or OBE?
I have a interesting sub topic for this topic. When you meditate you loose track of your time easily if you are deep enough, my personal view.

I would think that by definition, you should lose track of time. After all, isn't one of the main points of meditation to clear your mind? That would mean not being focused on time or the clock.
At least that is what I do with meditation. I can't speak for anyone else.
mine take only so long as it takes me to think, "WTF?"
seriously though . . . I'm a lot like Jeff in this regard.
