Title: Work vs Projecting
Post by: okoklo on October 15, 2006, 20:28:19
I was just woundering this because I worked about 10 hours of pure hard work and when I got home at midnight and went to bed my head was throbing for so long.  It wasn't hurting or anything, it actually felt nice like a massage and my body just dropped on the bed and layed still without having to calm myself down.  It seemed so cool because after a hard days work I thought I'd be feeling like sh*t but instead it felt great and so relaxing.   8-)

I have some success after working a 12 hour night shift.  I will arrive home completely exhausted and can fall asleep in about two minutes.  I think this can help in phasing as I can actually observe myself falling asleep quickly and see the images form.  Sometimes I can phase into them but most times just fall asleep.  I think this is partly why I have some success at AP.  Years in the military standing night watches and years in the civilian world working two full time jobs with overtime.

Lately I've been working 10 and 12 hour days and it does not help at all for me. I fall asleep very easily. It's best when I have a relaxed body and concentrated mind. I'm mentally exhausted as well as physically at the end of the day and I just crash.

I do like iNNERvOYAGER and wake up an hour early and do a 45 min to 1 hour meditation. That's the best way for me to start the day. But my all-time best spots are about an hour or so after I've been up on weekend mornings. I wish I could do that on work days.

Personally, the more energy I burn during the day, towards the night drifting from waking consciousness to the trance state its a lot harder. After being rested with sleep and upon waking, its easier to project because of rest and energy.

I voted "unsure" because I'm not an expert.   8-)
And oddly enough, my best results are during the week before I have to go to work.

Ditto. :-)

I am just about guaranteed to get out if I am very, very tired, but physically still awake.  For example if I have been at work all day long, then went to the beach, and ran home.  If I went to bed right away while still breathing heavily, and heart beating fast, I will then get the vibrations almost instantaneously from the moment my head strikes the pillow.  In fact, I can pretty much count on it.

My answer is NO - it is the exact opposite. If I oversleep or take a nap, I increase my chances.

OBEs usually happen to me in the morning anyway (after a night of sleep), after sleep paralysis or not.

Agreed as well for me. If I'm too tired, my brain just shuts off and I lose any power to become lucid or project.

well, it makes sense because it all revolves around energy. when you sleep, your body energy recharges itself, then upon awakening in the morning hours the better chance at projecting.

when i first started projecting i was fluent at obe's upon entering sleep at night. now, they mainly are in the morning hours and during naps.

I would like to try after I wake up but my problem is that when I wake up I have to go use the washroom right away and then I don't get the chance.  lol  :|
