in astral or OBE what is the best experience you have had to date? you don't have to be that descriptive but please include:

how long it lasted and roughly how much time in the real world was it

did you learn anything?

was consciousness very high?

did you want to do anything specifically whilst out there and if so what?

I can't really pick out a best one. None of my were all that great. There were a few okay ones. One I just flew to my hall mirror and kept changing my outfit in front of it. I mentally envisioned the elaborate dress I wanted to wear, and....well it only came out somewhat right half the time but it was pretty cool anyways.

One of the cooler experiences was where I went to my parent's room and looked up at the ceiling and all I saw was a dark sky full of shining stars.

When I was a noob at AP, the first time I looked at myself I was wearing a white ankle length gown. I had never thought about what people wore up there or what we were supposed to look like prior to that, even when reading through people's stories, so I thought that was pretty interesting since we often consider beings in white gowns to be akin to angels etc.

You'll need an hour for this one. It's one of my best, others can't easily be explained as they are in formless environments.

One of my most memorable astral projections involved the annihilation of an alter-reality version of my city, Christchurch New Zealand, being destroyed by a meteor strike. The entire experience lasted over an hour of real time and probably more that I don't remember. Consciousness was higher than the average lucid dream for sure. Sometimes in the higher level experiences I do gravity defying jumps or decide to casually walk in mid air. This experience began that way and transformed into an Armageddon situation.

I participated in the city wide chaos and scramble to escape as if I was a citizen there. We made it to the top of the Port Hills that surround the city before the meteors hit. They were small meteors, not like an extinction event. I didn't feel any fear, it wasn't quite like living the scenario as it was playing it out and observing it. I didn't feel like a true stakeholder in that reality.

My best one? I'll admit that I don't (and usually can't) project that much, but this morning's surprise attempt was probably one of the best I've had, in terms of super-high awareness. :)

Basically, I was initially in a dream about someone I miss a lot (again, they come round every now and then) and towards early morning, I woke up from it. Being a bit delirious from prematurely waking up (I didn't plan this projection BTW, the opportunity just came out of the blue!) I decided to try searching for this person and connecting to them. Well, I fell asleep... sort of...

I was in another dream environment at this point, being driven home in the car by my mother, when I decided to try AP in the car. I floated out, and activated my powered flight to rise at an incredible speed up to the cloud layer I could see. i then decided "why not DIVE?" so i did. Now here's where it gets interesting...

I ended up in some sort of room, and after a couple of minutes, I started to wake up. Started to... for some crazy reason, as my body was waking up, I was suddenly near those clouds again, and for the second time I sky-dropped. I suddenly froze dead, unable to see, and that familiar metallic sounding wind was ringing in my ears! I didn't think it was successful though, so I went to sit up... and realised I was out-of-body, sitting up, with my vision being nothing more than garbled noise. But at that time I didn't care; some thought in the back of my head echoed, "I'M OUT!"

Then of course, trust my eyes to flicker open and stuff it... XD I woke up shortly after that, quite happy that for the first time in months, I actually separated for a good 8 seconds! :) A whole hour had passed from when I fell back asleep to then.

And there you go. I was going to put this in a separate thread (or even put it in my journal thread here, although I haven't really touched it in a while) but I thought that it would be good here also. :)
