The only thing that give these silly letters any power is the belief that they have power. Ever heard of self-fulfilling prophesies? If you believe it enough you will make it come true.
My wife and I have one basic rule for chain letters or emails - they get thrown out! Don't care who they come from, even a close friend. If that friend asks about it, whe simply tell them that if they don't want the chain broken, don't send it to us.
