Hi McArthur, good to hear from you again.

Middle Pillar? Golden Dawn? Please, a brief description of you would. It sounds interesting.

Hi James,
an excellent book i am studing is called "Self Initiation into the Golden Dawn System" by Chic and Sabatha Cicero. It is a graded and careful system of spiritual attainment. The Middle Pillar excercise is practiced by a large percentage of Kabbalistic magicians all over the world. I am already getting quite positive results from it (for instance, i have a neg constantly around me but when i am in trance and doing the Middle Pillar exorcise i am somehow able to "push" this entity away from me. I´ll try to go into more detail about this later--im in an internet cafe and running out of time)
. Here is a link that describes it in detail, enjoy;

Hi McArthur -

I do the middle pillar and the circulation of the body of light - it is also helpful to do balancing of elemental energy....

if you do these exercises regularly, you aught to get to a point where you can feel the energy moving through and around you.... and you should be able to feel disruption.

It would be helpful in everything to maintain physical and ritual cleanliness.... the LBRP and the BRH... which also helps to develop energetic understanding.... at least in my experience.

Another thing to consider - its very important I think to seal your space after you clear it.

Hope this helps...

welcome back ; )

Hello Macarthur and Kristen
I have been pretty busy myself the last few months. I am glad you are back Macarthur and that you had a good time. Kristen you are right on what you are saying. Sealing the area does keep the bad energies out and forms a sort of basic ward. You can work upon the patterns that you use and then form lines of energy to and from the areas until it is a shield.
The better you get at it the more effective it will be. Practice is important. You can also feel the disruption in the energy doing the middle pillar exercise so you have been doing a good job on the exercises.
Wards are fields of energy that let the good things and energy in but keeps the bad things out. I prefer them made with a high vibratory pitch and I also find people are very individual about what they make them look like.

"I´m back, to let you know i can really shake em down", Do You Love Me by Brian Poole and the Tremelos :)

Hi Kristen & Nita,

The middle pillar excercise is going great and i get really great results every day. Because i am sensitive and also used to energy work i can feel and sense the energy as i call it down and its one of the most relaxing, warm and soothing excercises i know of. I find that the two main important parts for me to get into a more receptive state during it is the deep, rythmic breathing and to keep absolutely still. Just doing those two things sends me into a trance state quite easily and i step up from there.
The other day while doing the MPE i had an experience i will try to describe, most of it was spur of the moment kind of thing. I got into trance and started chanting the god names etc- drawing down the Light from Kether- and curcuilating it around my body. When i send the ribbon of light around my body i visulaize building a kind of "frame" around me. For instance when doing the up-the-back-and-down-the-front part i strongly visualize an oval shaped ribbon of light building up about 2 feet from my body. Then i do the up right down left part. When this is done i am kind of left with a frame of a large egg surrounding my body (kind of like building a Dome tent before putting the fly sheet over the top, except in the shape of an egg). Then i proceed drawing the Light up from my Malkuth centre out through Kether and then showering down filling in the gaps of the "frame" around me. The completed process of this ends with me enveloped in an egg of white Light.
Anyway, i was doing this the other day and had no bodily sensations as usual (like floating in Mind) and could still sort of sense this presence around me but because i was in a higher state it was unable to affect me. For some reason i started calling on Archangel Michael saying "clothe me in the armor of the Sun" and was visualizing my body being covered in a kind of golden knights armor. A long time ago i was led in a meditation that lasted all day by some spirits and they had me visualizing myself as the "Yolk of an egg in a golden shell". This led me to have a vision of the Buddha within (long story) and has always stayed with me. I think the golden armor part came to mind because of the golden yolk of the egg- hard to explain.
I then started to fill this egg i had built with Light from my Solar (hence the Sun, and Michael) plexus (Tiphareth) like filling a balloon. What i did was to concentrate on the Tiphareth centre-ball-of-light then expand it to the size of my aura while visualizing anything in my aura being forced out. Kind of like an energetic form of auric exorcism.
As i was doing all this i "saw" (for want of a better expression) myself floating in some kind of void-space (like Outer space) inside this golden egg. I also sensed this entity on the outside of this egg clinging onto me and i was trying to shake it loose into the abyss i sensed myself floating above/In.
Thats the basics of what happened and im gonna keep the Middle Pillar excercise up daily from now on.

Kristen i agree with you about clearing and sealing space etc and think i should probably do the LBRP after each MPE session too. If you know of others ways of "sealing" please do share.
Thanks for the welcome back :)

Hi ya people

I also practice the MPR and and LBRP and I would agree that these rituals are extreamly potent methods of development. But id like to add for people new to the rituals that they can have negative psychological side effects if you are not aware of the risks and prepared to manage them if they arise. A common trait of GD practicioners is a fantastic ego. When energy is raised from the crown to the lower extremities it can seemingly have this effect over time. Although the MPR is not ment to be working with chakras it has the same effect as developing the crown chakra before the base. In other words it works in the opposite direction to traditional yoga development. An egotistical mind is likely to be detrimental to high level development. But if your aware of this you can manage it if you notice ourself leaning in that direction.

best regards

Hi all...
As a practitioner of Magick I can say that the Middle Pillar is a great excercise to keep you grounded with the energies. It also attunes you to the astral realm. If you really do it everyday and being able to raise a good amount of energies, some people I know gained astral sense.
As for the LBRP (Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram) can banish from small imps, elves, elementals, etc. It also depends on how one can raise energy. I've met a person who can use the LBRP to banish demons.
Thgere is also the Supreme - but I really don't recommend this since it is very powerful. So far that I know, this ritual can banish angels also.
As for the Banishment of the Hexagram, this clears positive energies which for magicians its good. If you practice magick, then you would like to clear all types of influence, whether good or bad.
For those who wants to try to feel the divine energy you can do the banishment of earth, air, water, and fire. Now that you banish all elements you will work with pure spiritual energy.
I would like to make a word of warning about the LBRP, once you do it, you sort of "clean" your subtle body. You will light up in the astral realm. And as usual, you will attract the attention of Negs, but as long as you do it, you keep them away (this ofcourse depends on how much energy you raise during the ritual). Somehow they really don't like us walking the spiritual path. Don't be afraid, I had been doing this for a long time and no problems with Negs at all.
all in all, have fun!

There seems to be different opinions on whether it´s recommended to do THE MIDDLE PILLAR ritual when being under attack, or suffering from psychic attacks, some such as Melita Denning & Osborne Philips and Dion Fortune, say that it´s unwise to do it as you shouldn´t open up the psychic centres whilst being under attack , as this opening up probably makes you more vulnerable to further attack, but on the other hand Dion Fortune in her book PSYCHIC SELF-DEFENSE recommends doing a modified version of LBRP, which is also psychic centre activating(?!).

Personally I´ve found this all a bit confusing, but my guess is that it all depends on what type of psychic attack you´re suffering from, the more advanced ones from stronger entities, the attacks can increase (for me they did).

Personally a good banishing ritual is the first step, and rituals such as THE MIDDLE PILLAR and THE CIRCULATION OF LIGHT is probably better left alone until the amount of attacks have decreased. If on other hand the neg problem is minor, than there shouldn´t been any ttrouble doing these type of rituals.

Well, just a brief comment on this topic

Mathias

Astrocio

I will have to agree with Mathias on that. the middle pillar is actually regulating the energy to open you up to the astral plane, while the circluation of the body of light is meant to be used for clearing the aura.
the middle pillar is used to gound oneself to the energy as well. it lets you know both spiritually and mentally where you stand.
the circulation of the body of light is mostly used for healing.
these 2 excercise are meant to be practiced so that one knows how to control and raise energy. while under psychic attack, i wouldn't recommend the middle pillar since it really opens you up.
Cheers!

Also I have to say that LBRP is NOT THE ONLY or THE BEST  banishing ritual - I much prefer THE SETTING OF THE WARDS OF POWER of the AURUM SOLIS system , which is quite different, most notably:
*the circle is drawn counterclockwise, which is better than clockwise, when clearing an area astrally.
* instead of drawing banishing earth-pentagrams in each quarter, pentatgrams of brilliant light is visualized on the forehead, framed by the hands in a triangular mode, and flung with a swift motion on to the each quarter(not breaking the circle of course) whilst vibrating words of power, either in Greek (standard for Aurum Solis practioners) or Hebrew ones.

The rest of the ritual is quite similar to LBRP with an Invocation of the Higher self and a form of the Qabalisitic Cross (here called CALYX, also with Greek or Hebrew words).

SWP is a banishing ritual that I have experienced to be less dramatic in it´s ritualistic effect than LBRP but more astrally cleansing in a more soothing way.You feel more grounded after it than after having done LBRP.
I know, as I did LBRP for almost six years daily.
SWPt hasn´t got rid of the negs for me though, but during the period of waxing moon to full moon its effectiveness is definitely felt. The main reason for doing a banishing ritual whichever you choose, is the contact with the higher self and the cleansing/strengthening of the aura. You may also combine LBRP or SWP with THE TOWER OF LIGHT ritual where you visualize a blue ovoid like an egg around your aura and than you visualize the flame above your head showering brilliant sparkles on you. THE TOWER also has a soothing protective effect, some people have used it shield their homes with it even.

My future idea is to combine SWP with CORE IMAGE REMOVAL, but I would also  like to have some sort of Invocation of some Archangelic power, to have strength and help in locating and severing  these images and their branches effectively, the trouble with psychic self-defense is for me at least, is my inability to see the cracks in the armour, so to say, and to astrally "scan" where the negs and their connections are located, more than where they are physically felt.

Until you are able to "astrally see" your enemies than you can get them, until then, even garlic or protective herbs, is not to be put down in my opinion. If it´s effective, then  use it!

Murt

I have some experience of the middle piller, even though it is good, I am scared to do it, because of the power, it's just out there!
But one thing I was told is, that the middle piller brings energy into a person, I think from your higher self.
But this energy is not good or bad, it is just energy, and may attract beings looking for energy. These are more lightly to be negative beings, so watch out. In fact, without protection, I would go as far as saying the exercise of the middle piller is very dangerous.
I find the LRBP offers very powerful spiritual protection, but takes about three to four weeks to become powerful enough.
I find the effect of LRBP hard to describe, but wanted to get out of my car, run up and down the street, and then get back into my car !
The energy, and purity, is very special.
Visualising the various parts of the ritual, are very important, esp. the pentacles. It 's hard at the start, but the visualisation builds, and gets easier.

McArthur

Just a quick post to say im still alive and still working on my neg problem (re my thread from a while ago-¨: Neg attached- need help¨"). Having been on holiday for 2 months the sea air kinda helps and ive just been doing a kind of water walking method by walking the beach letting the sea ripple over my feet while watching the sunrise :)
I have also started doing the Middle Pillar excercise from the Golden Dawn magical system which is supposed to strengthen ones aura if one does it regularly. Anyone tried this?

hasta luego
