Totem animal or what?

Hi all

Earlier this year I experienced something I have never experienced before, seeing what looked to be a crow or blackbird with the naked eye. Now what's paranormal about that you may think, well imagine laying in bed with insomnia trying anxiously to get to sleep. The bedroom door was slightly open and the hall light was the only light in the room. The build in cupboard door was also slightly open. So when I saw, felt and heard a black bird fly out of the cupboard and disappear as it got to the bedroom door, I was shocked to put it mildly. To this day I know what I felt, heard and saw. Someone tried to tell me I had seen it with my minds eye, but I can't help argue this since it did not appear so, it appeared as real as you and I. The main difference was I saw no head, even though I saw a body and wings. The window had not been open and I had been in the room long enough to know that five minutes before there wasn't a sound let alone a bird hiding in the cupboard.
I've done some searching of websites but I'd like to have a more personal explanation rather than a summary of what the totem animal represents, if it was a totem animal I saw at all.
Any theories as to what it was or what the message/reason could be (if there is one) for this startling sighting, would be truly appreciated.

Love, light and blessings!!!

The best way to know its meaning or message would be just to ask it. I mean, enter into a meditatory state, summon the animal and talk to it freely. If it is really your totem animal it is your friend and the symbol of your inner strength.

You can also do an astrological research. Once I found a giant serpent in a meditation, years after I discovered that in the american indian astrology system I am the serpent, and I didn't know it before. Maybe a coincidence.

All the answer are inside your head. You have the keys to unfold the original meaning of your inner experiences.

Believe me, ask the totem. It know it all about you ;-)

Ah!, and let us know your experience, ok?

Thankyou so much andonitxo for your response. I will do as you instructed but must say I'm not all that good at meditation, however will tell you of any developments in finding out it's meaning if I'm successful.

Talking about giant serpents I had dream a while ago about a giant serpent in a park which I've never been to, a bit disturbing, especially as it swung itself at its victims rather than slithered. I can't help but think your vision was no coincidence but then I think most things that happen by 'coincidence' are destined in some way, still just my beliefs.

If I remember correctly seeing a crow or blackbird is suppose to mean you're on the right track...or something like that.   I'm not positive though.  I have a book around here somewhere that gives the totems.  I'll need your birth month and date.  You can PM if you want me to look it up for you. :)

I have also found even if I don't meditate but think about my question through out several days, my answer shows up in a dream sooner or later...it certainly worth a shot Earthbound.

Thanks TalaNay, I'll PM you, and the advice about asking a question over several days seems more likely to work for me seeing as I'm awful at meditation, but then I've heard so many different types of meditation, I wonder which way is the correct, or most appropriate for me.

If I think I've got the answer, I'll certainly keep you posted.

Quotebut then I've heard so many different types of meditation, I wonder which way is the correct, or most appropriate for me.
That was a problem with me when it came to different techniques on leaving ones body... I ended up having to stop listening to others and totally resort back to how I used to do it as a child... It worked like a charm!!

I suggest taking ONE technique at a time and working with it for at least two weeks..consistantly, if you aren't good at the consistant thing, a month.  :-D   You'll know which one works for you and you just might find a mix that works great.  It's all in the tweeking.  :-)   You might find your mind shoving all the techniques at you all at once...like me.lol.. that in itself will help you learn how to quiet your mind and pick what you want to come forward.

Good luck and I'll go look for that book now..LOL!

Could I send you my birth day too?  :-D I'm curious about it.

By the way, even if the archetypical energy of your totem is the same for sure its image, or how it appears to you, will change as new events happen in your life.

I use to meditate with the tarot cards and the same card use to happear differently from time to time. The best indicator is the feeling you get from it, that way you know who is who.

Nay

Sure!  PM me, I'll be happy to do that for you.. and anyone else that is interested.  :-)

The crow and raven are powerful totems in many cultures ie Native American and Celtic . I greet and speak to crows when they appear before me and tune in to hear the answer in a vision .

The best site I find on the net is Lin's Domain for totemic wisdoms .

Crows are the keepers of the Sacred Law
and to have a Crow totem is very powerful.

Personal Integrity are your watchwords
and your guide in Life.
If you have a Crow totem, your prime path
is to be mindful of your opinions and actions.
You must be willing to walk your talk,
to speak your truth and to know your life's mission.

Crow is a omen of Change.
Crow lives in the void and has no sense of time,
therefore, it sees past, present and future simultaneously.
Crow merges both light and dark, both inner and outer.
It is the totem of the Great Spirit
and must be respected as such.

They are symbols of creation and spiritual strength.
Look for opportunities to create and manifest the magic of life.
Crows are messengers calling to us
about the creation and magic that is alive in the world today
and available to us.
