So, this morning whilst I was just lying in bed deciding when to get up I smelt a really nice smell, like a woody aftershave smell. Now there was nobody else in the house, my husband had left half an hour previous and it wasn't his aftershave. It's not the first time Ive smelt 'strange aromas' in the house. It only lasts for a few seconds, as if somebody has just walked passed me. I've come to look forward to what the next smell will be. Ive got no explanation for it

I have a similar one:

About 11 years ago I had moved into a duplex. Alone with no roommates. Over the 1st couple months, at really odd times I would be overwhelmed with the smell of rosemary. I mean STRONG. I know it was rosemary because both my grandparents were catholic and at both their funerals the priest use rosemary incense over the caskets, smelling up the whole church - it smelled exactly like that. It would hang around for up to an hour.

Over 2 months it happened about 5 or 6 times. I asked the landlady who lived in the other half of the duplex about it and she said she had no idea and that she didn't use rosemary and wasn't cooking or anything.

To this day I have no idea what it was. I lived there for about 7 years, but it never happened again. I've always associated that smell with my grandparents and would like to think it had something to do with them looking over me in my new residence, but that could easily be superstitious wishful thinking. Maybe it was something simple that I just overlooked. It was weird though.

Stillwater, nice tune but what's your point? See no connection

Yeah, I tend to think it would just be something like an open window that was nextdoor to your neighbors cooking rosemary potatoes. Lots of thing might have extraordinary explanations, but it definitely makes sense to consider simpler ones in cases like these.

Not everything has a point

World is full of events that result... mainly from events that resulted before them.

In other cases, perhaps a thing might be its own justification!

Well, yeah I can apprecaite the rosemary theory but that does not hold water with the smell I smelt. Remember it was twice, about 10 mins apart. And its happened before but with different smells.

I work cleaning homes with teammates.  My teammate is somewhat psychic like I am..We both can speak and hear our deceased relatives.  Her and I don't always work together. It depends who needs me because
I am the floater in the business.  One person dusts and the other person cleans the bathrooms and she
was dusting and I could smell lemon pledge and I thought doesn't that beat everything she's bringing
lemon pledge to these houses.  (the business does not provide polish like that).  After the 3rd time,
three separate occasions that we were together and this happened, I finally asked her if she was using
lemon pledge.  She was in the next room as I was in the bathroom and I could see she didn't have any
Pledge.  She replied no and I told her what I have been experienceing.  She said no one in her family used pledge that she remembered and I told her I never smelled that with any one before.  Any ideas here?

I know this is an old-er thread but I had to comment anyways.

When I was about 11 years old I walked into the living room and my mom asked me what perfume I was wearing. I said I wasn't and my grandma got this nervous look as my mom said that something smelled really nice. My grandma ended up leaving in a bit of a huff. She never spoke about it.

I met my husband online. He was from Missouri. We talked online and/or on the phone daily for months before meeting in person. One night he told me about his spirit guide and how he was an Indian Chief and he liked to smoke payotee (spelling?). Weeks passed and I was teasing him about his "druggie guide." Almost immediately I got this STRONG, STRANGE smell that filled my one bedroom apartment located thousands of miles away from Missouri here in Cali. I told him what was happening and he began to laugh. He said it was his guides getting back at me for calling them druggies. I don't know, to this day, if there was some other explanation for it or not....? I know that the smell lasted for HOURS and once it was gone it never returned. I had lived in that apartment over a year at that point and had never smelled it before. I remained there for another 2 years and never smelled it again either. Very strange huh?
