Title: Starting over...
Post by: WalkerInTheWoods on October 24, 2003, 08:15:15
No, No, NO! NOT AGAIN! PLEASE! No, I would not like to do it again. At one time I wanted to, but not now.

All of those "mistakes" we made were good lessons for us to learn from. Who can say what problems might arise if we were to go back and redo them, this time not making the mistakes. By not having them, then maybe they would fade from our memory and the lessons we learned from them as well. Then we may be forced to learn those lessons over, and who knows what kind of consequences they might have this time around. Learn to see them not as mistakes but as lessons to learn from.

Just to say that I said "while keeping your current mind/spirit/knowledge/beliefs/...".  So the lessons you learned are not forgotten...  The problem is that, even if you learn from your mistakes, there are some mistakes that cannot be corrected and that will "haunt"/annoy/hinder you for the rest of your life...

By example, I had an accident when I was young and the result is that my body is kind of messed up, and cannot be fixed.  I must admit that I did not get this lesson yet, apart from finding out that the human body is quite fragile...

I want a brand new body!!! [|)]

But my point was, having redone the events and "correcting" the mistake, then the new memories may overpower the previous memories and might cause us to forget the lessons. But who knows, this hypothetical time travel stuff can give one a headache. Even if they would never be forgotten no matter what happens I still would not do it, but that is just me.

I am not saying that my life is perfect. There are things that I would do differently if I could. But when weighed with starting all over, I would just perfer to keep on with my life. I can definately understand such a desire for health reasons, but the physical body is such a temporary thing to begin with. Just look forward to the time when you can leave it and explore the other realms without the physical body and brain holding you back.

You're right. I forgot to think about it like that..

"I had an accident when I was young and the result is that my body is kind of messed up, and cannot be fixed."

Me too, [:(] only mine wasn't really an accident.

Going back and trying to correct all of your mistakes would probably prove futile because making these corrections would alter and change your life patterns and present you with a different future reality which would be at great variance to your actual past life. It would probably make more sense for us to just learn from our past mistakes and use this wisdom to resolve our karma. Just a thought.

Don't know where else to put this...

If you were given the opportunity to go back to when you were born, while keeping your current mind/spirit/knowledge/beliefs/... and having to redo it all...  Would you take it?

What good things or problems do you think might arise?

Personaly, I would love to give it another try with a brand new healthy body, knowing what not to do...  But having to go once more throught childhood and teenage might be a little frustrating and long... [|)]

Having to fake "baby-talk" for years might be difficult... [;)]
