What are strobe flashes?  Is that something to do with astral body developement?

Hi Wendy & Samara,

Strobe flashes are clearly described in Astral Dynamics p185-187, 545. The first couple of times I experienced them gave me quite a fright. The first occasion I can recollect went something like this: I had been sitting going through various practices starting initially with breath awareness, and after about 30-40mins (time had become irrelevant anyway) I was very conscious of been in a deeply relaxed and energized state of body and mind. I had also been concentrating on the brow area and had already become aware of a pool of violet light in my minds eye. I then noticed some energetic surges from the crown to upper torso all around my body, and then what felt something like been hit by a couple of miniature thunder bolts – or more likened to a series of concussive slaps around the head. This was followed or in parallel with (I can't remember which way round) an extremely bright flashing incandesance illuminating what felt the whole area around me. I found this odd as I had set the lighting in the room at a very low level. I briefly checked this by opening my eye lids and noticed with surprise that the intensity was as set earlier. Following this experience I spoke to several people and had wild variation in their interpretations: one person thought they had an Angelic visitation another thought they had become enlightened (a partial truth). Finally the explanation in AD came my way and the penny dropped. I'll not repeat it here as you should be able to find it easily enough. Although it can seem a frightening experience it is really nothing to worry about when it happens and is a good sign of energetic developement.

Hi Stephen and wendi,
Thanks for the response. I didn't know about the strobe flashes when I experienced them. They literally looked like a flashbulb going off directly in front of me, although my eyes were closed. I felt briefly disorientated after they occured. I'm happy to know that it is a good sign of development

Just wondered about the best way to proceed if the third eye is beginning to strobe (although it isn't a regular thing). Is it just best to work the on the energies for all the chakras?

Hey samsara, I get exactly the same, with out any kind of energy work or development. And mostly when im going to sleep. It some times comes with a loud poping sound in my head! on ocassions Its followed by a short vision, ive always thought it was spirit showing me stuff but thinking about it it most probably is chakra related stuff.

I haven't yet managed to see any visions, only the flashes. Although when they do happens it feels like my mind is being pulled into something. I don't know whether this is usual.

i've been getting odd strobe like phenomena, but not so bright.  this will usually happen in pairs of threes and usually occurs when i am going to sleep.

the first time that i actually strobed i thought that a lightning bolt had struck my house outside my window- the popping sound was that loud.  it hasn't happened since though (not that intensely).  i did get one a few days ago that looked like a magnesium flare had gone off in the front of my head.

as for whether or not the strobes will continue- that all depends on whether or not you keep changing as a person... as long as that occurs i would say that you would have a good chance of recurrence

Hiya samsara,

I get them when I'm just about to go to sleep some nights, and they are normally followed by one of those dreams that show a glimpse of the near future. Wether that's normal or not, you'll have to ask the other members, because I don't know - I've always been a little wierd.[B)]

I think they do increase without concious energy development, because we are all constantly developting, wether it is subconcious or not. Though I think if you conciously develop your brow chakara then then will increase more noticiablibly. If that makes sense? o.O
