I think that the real world, they now live in, is another matrix and Morpheus is living in  a dream world. Selah!

i think that the plot is going to on to show that morpheus and trinity and everyone else have all also been living in just another level of the matrix.

even that dude at the end of the second movie (the guy who controls the matrix) admits both that "the matrix is about control" and yet "not everyone accepts this control" so i'm guessing that the matrix created the first "level" of reality for those who would accept it and then created a second level of it for those-who-didn't-accept-the-first-level to accept (hence the reason why neo could feel those things while in the "real" world), thereby controlling even those who don't think they are being controlled (everyone wants to feel like they have some form of control over their life, but who really does? those who think they do?). although just how far that control goes will be up to the script writers to decide.

the matrix is a deeply philosophical movie, trying to get the audiences to start thinking about the life they are living, to try and understand that we only know of the reality that we see with our eyes and touch with our hands but that there is still far more to reality than that, rather than hold on to the beliefs that they were spoonfed by others who don't really know the truth (perhaps the phrase "there is no spoon" has a deeper meaning than even what the show offered up).

that's what i think.

I think it would be a great plot twist if we were to find out that Neo isnt really 'The One' afterall but 'The One' is someone else, and that it is through Neo that we find the true 'One' and the true 'One' replaces the Architect of the Matrix and therefore 'The One' controls the Matrix.

You could argue that even the Oracle calls Neo 'The One', but then it could be argued that she is simply telling him and everyone else what they need to hear. [8)]

well, in the first movie she did say that there were many people with the ability to become "the one" but that he wasn't going to be it because he was still waiting for something. so it's not all that unfeasible that there couldn't be other "the one"s (although they're going to have to come up with a new name[|)]).

and something else that's been bugging me about the matrix (and please let me know if i'm just remembering it wrong): the architect said that the war had happened many times before, always with "the one" having to make a choice between 1) putting his own desires above the needs of the many (as it were) by saving the one he loved and 2) putting the needs of the many above the wants of the few (as it were) and instead saving zion. if i remember correctly, he also said that every other time "the one" choose to protect zion and win the war, which would mean that this is the first time that "the one" had chosen love (which could lead to a whole lot of spin off storylines in itself, possibly such as the classic "machines want to understand love/emotion").

as well, i'm thinking that they're going to end it off with a philosophy akin to: nobody knows how deep the matrix goes, whether any of the lives being led are real or just in another level of the matrix, so the meaning of life isn't to control your life but is something else. perhaps nothing you do in life matters, perhaps you're just a pawn in an enormous game and even that game is merely around for the whims of its true players. we're lost in an enormous world that we can't even begin to imagine... or are we?

This is why Neo could destroy sentinels in the real world, because he had chosen the other door. During Neo's time with the Architect Neo's coding so to speak was altered. Neo is in a coma in the real world but thats because his 'Mind' is trapped within the Matrix.

I suggest to all Matrix fans to get the game 'Enter The Matrix' for the PC - this game was written and designed by the Wackowsky brothers (or however its spelt). Within this game there is an entire other story that occurs during the time of reloaded, it follows the story of the Logos and its captain Niobe and Ghost.
Amazingly enough you learn extremely important information that you dont get from the film.
There is an especially interesting bit where the Oracle speaks of 'the child who will bring an end to the war' (possibly the real ONE.)
The real world and the world of the machines are both in jeapordy because of agent smith, the machines and humanity must work together to prevent the end of everything.

"Enter the Matrix" is also for all 3 major consoles as well, just so ya know...

I beat the game all the way through as both characters, and it was entertaining for those 2 days.

I would actually recommend seeing the first 2 Matrix movies, beating the game twice through (once with each character), and renting the Animatrix as well.

Once you do all of that, the storyline leading to 3 will make MUCH more sense [:)]

When I said PC, I said that because I thought that since people post here regularly chances are 99% of the people here own PC's. [;)]
As for the game, I beat it within around 2 days also, but that was on easy, on hard, all I can say is 'holy poop' because on hard difficulty it took me about a week. LOL
I absolutely loved the hacking part, I hope they have it in the next game.

Im trying to find the script for the enter the matrix game so I can study the conversations, more notably the conversations with the 'stand in [;)]'oracle. Hopefully it would help me get a better understanding of the possible storyline of the next movie.

On numerous occations I have been qouted lines and fibs from the Matrix. It seems to be one of the favorite movies of the members of the forum. While on one hand it seems smart to say "You are living in a dreamworld Neo" quite the soundbyte and so on, I would suggest caution.[;)] The matrix has not played out and the way things changed in the last episode it is entirely possible that Morpheus is the one "living in a dream world"[;)]. The qoute is cute though. Is there any takers on where the plot is going??
