I have been Writing a novel for more then 4 years, and i'm stuck on chapter 2, it has changed over time and evolved till it has been unrecognizable and each time i rewrite the thing I keep getting stuck on chapter 2, it is the 1st book i've attepted to write and I've no clue what to do about it. any help would be great.
it is a fantasy type novel that i've based on many differant culltures and mythologies as well as lore and legends from around the world, it is very difficult and i feel there has been too much research that has been spent into my project.

Each night before you sleep, tell yourself that you are going to dream the next section. Keep a notepad by the bed and write your memories and feelings as soon as you awaken.

You might need to modify that slightly such that on awakening you lie perfectly still and try to recall your dreams and any associated feelings and then write everything down.

Give it time to work.

that is an intreging idea... i guess its worth a try.

Maybe writing in a novel format just doesn't work for you. I think i god exercise could just be writing a series of short stories that link with each other, and trying to transition them so they create a whole story.

well, i think i'll stick to the novel idea, anyway, how much does it cost to publish a novel anyway?

Since you are dealing with mythology and lore, could you think about the novel as animated screenplay? Are you in search of a writing partner? I do a lot of research... I'd need to look at the basics of the project and know the direction you'd like to go with it... A story needs a beginning - middle - and end. It has to come from somewhere, get very interesting or exciting and then go to some conclusion to be intriguing... 4 years is a long time to be stuck... If you allow me read to your first chapter and I will give you some feedback...

I don't really want of need a writing partner for this project, also i've been stuck for that long because my friends wanted me to help them draw characters for their game. so i'm really swamped but I really don't think having a partner would be a very good idea. I tried it once and I got fed up with him that I kicked him our of my apartment.
