Yes, but this is something you can actually do something about yourself, if you have some land: start growing non-hybrid vegetables and save seeds (that way, you are not dependant on a seed supplier - the agro-industry wants dependence, dependence means control and profit).

Instead of the standard store bought vegetables, you will be able to enjoy a wide variety of home grown vegetables. And there are a lot of heirloom/non-hybrid seeds to choose from.
