IT seems impossible to beat James R.

Even a guy with PK powers cannot win the 100000$ because simply they are lying (see the video)

Tk powers are not real...

I wonder about OBEs....TK, obes, etc etc etc...the more i look around me, the more is are to believe on OBErs or guys with tk powers.

Ah the trick to defeat Randi at TK is to levitate him and not the anvil.

I do believe it's all real - part of the natural world and just as real as the everyday things we experience all the time.

Trouble is when we have showmen like Randi who use clever and inventive trickery and illusion to mimic the real thing, it becomes diminished. It becomes a sideshow act that is viewed as an attention seeking performance instead of a means by which we can empower ourselves.

I liked the video, thanks for posting it, but taking this guy as proof against the 'paranormal' is a little too much. Not that I want to defend the 'paranormal', but let's be fair  :-)

This may be true but there are precious few instances that even approach credible evidence.
I'd expect that someone who can counteract the extant physical phenomena and levitate a feather would inevitably extend that to significant objects, hence my previous post.

To be fair I should point out that Randi is being overt with his plastic chips. HE could have accomplished the same by requiring that the guy turn 3 pages or that the phonebok be at a normal reading position ie. pages turn left to right.

Well the guy in the clip admited he had no powers to an investigative journalist called Dan Korem a few years after the linked clip was filmed. He says he learned the tricks which made it look like he had telekinesis powers whilst in prison.

that guy was in prison? where did you saw that readings about that i was lying?

The guys name is James Hydrick and googling about him brings up lots of stuff on this, some which includes interviews with him about his time in prision and explanation on why he pretended to have psychic powers.

I didn't think you were lieing? I checked your link out and recognised it due to the guy in it eventually admitting he was a fraud (something I had come across a while back).

Kazbadan

thanks for the links ! ;)
he is a fraude indeed lol
I love you!

James could have just required the guy to wear a mask or some kind of covering over his mouth.  Would have been a bit simplier I think.  His idea psyched the guy out completely tho.

By the way, I think the trick would have been possible under those conditions.  I was in the airport the other day, and there was some kind of dvd that teaches you a magical levitation trick.  I watched the guy flip around one of my coins in midair, as well as a pen.  He said it used some kind of secret substance you could order from the company.  It wasn't worth the $40 and I'd rather learn real telekinesis someday, but I think if the guy had some of that stuff, he could have beaten Randy's test conditions.

Ahahaha!

QuoteI would have to convert twenty inmates a day. I'd get up there and start telling them about Jesus and stuff. And when I'd see that they were beginning to get turned off - I'd stop and say "You don't believe that it exists?" - I'd take a Bible and open it up and say "If the Lord is here with me make these pages move!" or I'd open the Bible and say "Hold the Bible. Father in the name of Jesus Christ make these pages move." And the pages would move! And the guys are going "Oh my God!!!" Everytime it worked. Then I would say "It's in you."

I felt bad for the guy when I watched the video though :p
