Hey everybody. So I don’t really know what to do and I am at a loss Sad

I been trying to meditate more often but simply am having the hardest time.

I can’t listen to music anymore which really upsets me. I enjoy oldies and 80s and cyberpunk and new retro wave type music. The problem is I get horrible repetitive loops stuck in my head. Very rarely do I not have a song stuck in my head... I realize that I have been this way since forever but recently it’s a lot worse. And since I am meditating more I think my awareness of it is stronger of just how much noise is in my brain all day. I’ll try and explain the best I can.

I repeat commercials in my head so I stopped watching tv and when I watch hockey games that I love I mute commercials. It takes me hours to get them out and sometimes I even have two of them at once. It’s the same with songs. Sometimes I’m playing two songs in my head over and over. And sometimes this lasts for two days. I will go to sleep and wake up and it’s playing again. I looked on google and it said people who do this need to see a doctor because it could indicate brain cancer or an underlying medical condition because it’s not normal. I have aspergers and horrendous OCD since I eas a kid and I am very hyperactive. Yesterday I had a song by Gary Numan (80s) stuck in my head for two days... I had been listening to those songs a lot so I switched to classical music and something I wasn’t familiar with... then that got stuck in my head. So I looked online again and saw that chewing gum can help. I got so desperate I went to the gas station and got some gum... my thoughts were so obsessive when I got back home I turned on thunder sounds on YouTube and jungle ambience noise to help. I had an anxiety attack and after two hours things kinda calmed down... I went for a drive and turned on my music and quickly shut it off. I turned on the AM radio and a song came on for 15 seconds and then that was in my head for another 2 hours.

I went to bed last night with a song stuck in my head and woke up with a song I haven’t heard in a while stuck in my head.... then as I was taking a shower 5 other songs would start looping.

I have always struggled with OCD and obsessive thoughts but I don’t know what to do guys Sad I meditated yesterday and had some visions wanting to pop up and I even heard some random astral noise and that made me happy I am even able to get some data with all the loops I have going on my head everyday...

I’m gonna mute all commercials when I watch hockey (I don’t watch tv anymore except hockey games) but whenever I go to my grandmas house those insulting to my intelligence commercials are always blasting as loud as possible so I am screwed...

I’m gonna stop listening to music for a while I guess and just stick to video games since those don’t cause any loops and actually calm me down...

I can’t even listen to talk radio anymore because they play 15 seconds songs and that’s all it takes for me.

I have so many neurological conditions so I hope this isn’t an underlying severe problem like google said. I don’t want to go on medication I have been on many of them... right now all I am on is valium and I take it responsibly. I don’t drink... don’t smoke... (I tried marijuana but it gave me panic attacks) so I stopped. I love nature and for the most part live a very stress free life. I’m hoping this is just severe OCD I also have Tourette’s so I mimic things a lot... like a freakin parrot.

I can’t explain how beautiful it is when I can shut my mind off completely. What’s scary is one time I had an out of body experience and I was walking down my street cussing (tics) just like I do here. I hope I’m not like this forever.

If anybody has any suggestions that’s not medication I would appreciate it so much.., my diet is okay but I probably intake a lot of sugar... I love juice which I know has a crap load of sugar but everyone else does it and is fine... I don’t really eat junk food and I drink clean healthy mountain well water...

I know I could make such progress if I could get rid of these loops in my head they are really stopping me dead in my tracks right now. I naturally have always been pretty psychic but I’ve stopped all tv... except watching hockey on my computer and it doesn’t have commercials that way... I stopped all music even classical music and maybe I’ll stick to ambient noises. That sucks though because music makes me happy I love oldies and synth like Gary Numan, psybient type music... really happy stuff.

Like I said even if I don’t listen to music my brain likes to think of songs I know and loop them anyway... :/ sometimes this can last for two days.... idk what’s wrong Sad please feel free to PM I would also love healing if possible. I’m really trying hard and know I would make a wonderful medium which is my dream. I just gotta figure this out. I’ve seen doctors and specialists my whole life for this stuff and they don’t help. thanks buds

Hey Cody, I feel for you!  sad

While creating my Crystal Amplifiers almost nightly, my wireless headphones have become my best friend. I normally will go to youtube or a Radio talk show to find something that interests me and "co ordinates" with the theme of what I am currently creating. Other times I will go to the Radio talk shows to see what their topic for the night is and if I find it interesting or once again it's theme co-ordinates with my current creation, I will listen to it.

For youtube, it's normally a full concert from the past that gets my attention. I love Music. Last night I listened to a Foreigner concert that was recently made. I was amazed to see the new singer sounded just like, if not better than the original vocalist of that band. After that, I listened to a Radio talk show interview on the subject Perception. Today, I have been contemplating what I heard last night from that discussion on perception, while once in awhile humming to one of Foreigner's songs.

I have had many times when a tune I recently heard gets stuck in my head. When that happens I either "mentally" change the tune or go and listen to it again. That usually ends it then and there. I never allow it to become a "obsession". There is so many more positive thoughts that you can replace it with, like your "Happy Place" for instance.

I too love Hockey and watch it often. I live in Minnesota, so that is pretty par for the course here. It's in our blood, lol. Usually I will mute the sound period, even for the game. The only time I will listen to the broadcast is when it is on the NHL channel with the "neutral" broadcasters. Our local broadcasters are a bit too "biased" for my liking. Besides that I only watch the History, Science, Discovery and Travel Channels. I love "Mysteries at the Museum" and any shows that Josh Gates narrates.

I love contemplating what I heard the previous night on YouTube or one of the 4 Radio talk show networks that I frequent. A song that stays around doesn't bother me either. I just input another thought into my mind when the song becomes too repetitive.

A few weeks ago I made a new thread in the "Welcome to Dream" sub forum here about how to use a "earworm" to your advantage in LDs. They make great "Dream triggers".

I don't have OCD or anxiety issues so I don't understand that side of things. I am also not a Licensed Therapist of any kind, so I am not going to offer you any other suggestions besides what I already have said above. Basically, I wouldn't even know where to start. I don't think anyone on this Forum would either. I'm sure you have read the AUP in the past. So you can understand why.

Thank you so much!! man, it sounds like we have quite a lot in common and as far as hockey goes I am an avalanche guy.... lol Cheesy foreigner is great... i had their CD's but now that I have youtube premium I just use that for music.

and I totally understand why and honestly I just want it to get better so I can make some progress but I know I will get there. It's hard to stop music.... i do a lot of rapping and making music so that's gonna be impossible. I had a good meditation session today after listening to lots of music so maybe it's just some days are worse than others. The avalanche announcers are prob the most biased in the NHL it's hilarious!! Boston is pretty bad too but jack edwards is so funny lol. I will check out the link thank so you much Lum - smiley)

My Minnesota Wild will likely get their butts handed to them at the hands of your Colorado Avalanche tomorrow, lol.  But you never know, we have been showing improvement lately.
I was amazed how good the new vocalist for Foreigner was. Normally a new vocalist in a band is easy to tell. I had to check the date of the concert to see if it wasn't the actual original Foreigner band.

Have you ever listened to any music by Paul Collier? It's all instrumental, so no lyrics, no "ear worms". But it is very relaxing. I love listening to it as a "primer" for my Phase sessions or when I finish my nightly creations and wish to turn my thoughts off.
He has a playlist here that has over 100 songs. I find the one track "Defragmenting your mind" to be excellent.

For concerts, I love exploring Solo careers of already known musicians. I bet not many people would know how talented the lead vocalist from Slip Knot really is. Here is some of his work. Another fantastic vocalist that I have found sounds like Chris Cornell, the deceased member of Soundgarden. The first link is to Corey Taylor live in live full show. The second link is to Richie Kotzen, also live. Both are fantastic concerts.

Edit: That Corey Taylor live has some offensive language in it. Just a warning! It's all in fun though!

I sorta had/have this for a time period. Except i wasnt againts it. I just let it play. It happened during specific times in accoradance to what was going on. Never the less, it has somewhat stopped. When i meditate, i go through layers of thoughts. First just regular daydream things. Then things i 'need to do'. Problems i have. etc. usually in an order that seems to suggest there are indeed layers of deepness i am becoming more aware of. Towards the bottom (as far as ive gotten) music would play and get louder. My thoughts sorta tangled with it. Sometimes more music, sometimes less and more thoughts. Sometimes it would want the music to stop and get triggered. But after a while, acceptance came.

I would say the strongest thoughts that would need more awareness upon them, or for you to not react but let it be, is any thought that does show resistance to the music. And figuring out why can help.

Let's say you want to meditate. You want to focus on a goal you have. Anything that gets in the way of said goal can be viewed as a problem. If music seems to get in the way, in your perspective, then a fight will occur. Emotions will surface that are uncomfortable/annoying/etc. But here's the thing, what is happening to you can be a blessing in the right light. Such how dreams let one experiance emotions that would not likely occur in day-to-day life for one to 'overcome' them and process them, this could give you a chance to release lower vibrations from you without making your life a complete hell in a more serious manner (like being homeless or . . .)

I say that because do you know ? Apply this to music. Do you know it is getting in the way of your goal? What if it's helping you, or can help?   Perhaps you get no real good answers, but you dont need them. They usually help make it easier to live life having them.   None the  less! This is what I suggest until the music goes away or until you can live with it comfortably and venture out to listen to music you want rather than avoid things.

You have your goal. Trust it will come or what will happen will be in your best interest and only better can come. Worst case scenario is you achieve your goal.
Give your intent out to the universe, higher power, w.e. for what you want to create/experiance. You only need to do this once or for a little amount of time. (dreams work like this- no need for repetitive intent)   Trust. No need to trust anything in particual. Trust the process. Trust what is. Trust whatever. Trust you dont need to trust. This helps me but if you struggle with it, you dont need it.
Then meditate or what have you. Simply dont worry about deciding what to do or how to do it. As long as you are aware, or can feel, your doing good.  If you can sit in that music and feel that energy, it is healing in essence. It's releasing that vibration. Avoiding it is just that. It will still be there until you process it out. Notice how you feel mentaly, physically, emotionally, what your thinking. Focus on whatever you want (such as music, specific spots) and flow how you want. Dont flow at all. As long as you do ANY of this, there is an underline intent you are saying to the universe' this is to heal'. Everyone is different so no need to be so strict and thorough on how you do this. The main ingrediant IMO is being aware and/or feeling. Dont worry on how aware you have to be cause feeling is just as good.  If you somehow to worry about 'am i doing it right?' As long as you aware of that doubt then you are doing good.

You may feel the need to do something else that may be even better. Or at least worth trying just to see. YOU have the best solution withen you. This is just a universal step that should work for anyone with self awareness.

Sorry if sloppy explanation. Still trying to figure out how to help explain this in the easiest way possible with some problems that might occur when awareness and/or feeling isnt enough for someone. GL M8

Lumaza- I just listened to that playlist and holy smokes!!! Man! I felt like I was just at the most peace I felt in a long time... I saved that to my YouTube to listen to Cheesy it actually got rid of my earbugs.... I was just finishing a song I am creating and the track was looping over and over in my head for hours and I listened to that and now it’s gone. Good lord that’s relaxing. Do you think it’s just as easy to access the database or source when listening to music? Or is pure silence better? I know Tom Campbell said to learn to meditate standing, sitting, music, no music, etc which makes perfect sense! But for now that music I hope helps me on my path. Thanks so much for sharing that with me! Aye we will see tonight... no team in the nhl is safe anymore!! I thought  the avalanche were gonna go downhill with all the injuries... but mackinnon has just gone full spirit world Hahahah. And kadri, donskoi, and burakovsky are lightning it up too so lots of depth. Cheesy I don’t miss a single game and I follow nhl network religiously lol. I went to pepsi center in Denver to watch the Avs play Columbus it was AWESOME. Wild are def looking better and all it takes a few key pieces and boom.... also I will check out that music!oh and believe me Don’t worry about the language I listen to allllllllll kinda of stuff!

Karxx- thank you so much for the reply!! That wasn’t sloppy at all it actually really really helped me a lot Cheesy I think acceptance is a huge thing... I’ve noticed when something is really bothering me it won’t go away and then I’ll finally say okay.... it’s whatever...  blah blah... and it goes away. It’s so funny how our minds and brains work. I know I got two wires up there that aren’t supposed to be touching if you know what I mean haha
 cheesy
Take care Karxx thanks for taking the time to write all that it means a lot :—) -Mars

Either or. Whatever is more comfortable for you. I love using Music like this as a "primer", just to set stage, per se!  smiley It's easy to get "lost" in it.

Tom is a smart man!  smiley He said that so that you didn't get stuck in a rut whereas you had to keep doing the same thing otherwise you couldn't achieve you goals. I find that you basically "have to" switch it up from time to time. I guess that shows that some kind of "evolving" is going on.

Your Avalanche was strong last night, but the Wild prevailed!  :-)I've always liked watching Colorado play. They have some serious speed and make most games exciting. Last night was a great game as well. Mackinnon is in the same "league", per se. as Connor McDavid, where you know that sooner of later he is going to be a major factor in the game!  cool

I'm glad to hear that you liked Paul's Playlist. The songs "Taken up in the Sky" (#45) and "Facing the Unknown" (#46) are a few of my favorites. He also has some good Binaural Beat tracks and just today while doing a YouTube search, I see that he has a new 2019 playlist. That "Defragmenting the Mind" has a very unique sound though.
