Feb.01/2002 - OBE or LD?

Malcolm

Whenever I consistently practice energy work and OBE training, I usually have about two or three spontaneous OBEs every month. They are usually quite short and I never really get a chance to do anything. They are almost all the same - I will suddenly become conscious in my room or just in front of my house. I immediately know that I am having a non-physical experience. I will then get excited and one of two things will happen: 1.) I'll be pulled in a certain direction and wake up immediately. 2.) Reality will dissolve and I will wake up. At the time, I am convinced that it is a geniune OBE. But afterwards, I usually find some problem with the experience that leads me to believe that perhaps it was just a Lucid Dream. My last OBE on Feb.01/2002 is a perfect example. It's a bit different than the other LD/OBEs in that I maintained full control over my mind and managed to prolong the experience. I'm still not sure, though, if it was an OBE or a Lucid Dream.

Morning of Feb.01/2002, before waking. Estimated time: 2 minutes.

I became fully conscious and aware while on the roof of a house across the street. I was sure that this was an OBE and I decided to clear my mind. I maintained this "blank slate" mind-state for the entire OBE (2 minutes). I concentrated on my surroundings to absorb every minute detail. I noticed, at this point, that my vision was slightly blurry. It was also sunny out, like a pleasant summer day. I hopped off the roof and fell slowly to the ground. When I landed, there was no impact. I started moving up the street at running speed. I noticed that all the houses were in their proper places. I then turned down an alley. In real life, this alley is a dead end, but in this experience it led to a rural location of some sort with houses placed very far apart. The grass was green and I remember feeling wind (I think). I stopped moving and tried jumping onto the roof of one of the houses. I jumped up about 3 feet and was pulled back to the ground, landing with zero impact. This was a little disappointing. I decided to put some real effort into the jump, but I only managed to get about 6 feet off the ground. I felt very clumsy. I woke up soon after and recorded the experience.

I was positive at the time that this was a real OBE, but I soon found some flaws in the experience. As I stepped outside a little while later, I noticed that the ground was completely covered in snow. So why was there no snow in the OBE? I'm thinking that it may have been a Lucid Dream instead. There are elements of LD and OBE in this experience and it's very hard for me to tell the difference between the two. So, here's my question to everyone: Do you think it was an OBE, or a Lucid Dream, and why?

Thanks,
Malcolm
